Top Week 1 Games for the Yappi Challenge

It's that time of the year again. Looking for the best matchups for week 1. Looking for games that are played on Friday or Saturday between teams that should be competitive and top ranked. Both schools should be OHSAA schools.

Post them here and we will come up with the top games for the challenge that will begin August 1st.

Last time game was at Mogadore Field stadium, thunderstorms hit at halftime. Game was postponed until next morning. Seemed like a j.v. game. The night before was a big crowd and exciting.. Go Mogadore WILDCATS retain the helmet!!

Not sure that they're the best games in the state, but some of the best week 1 games in the WBL are:

Eastwood @ Ottawa-Glandorf

• both heavy hitters in D5 R18. Last year O-G went 11-4 losing to Kirtland in the state semis, while Eastwood went 8-3. Eastwood won last year's week 1 match-up between these two teams.

London @ St Marys Memorial

• Both teams went 10-3 last season. This is the second part of a home-and-home series, St Marys won last year in a 10-7 slugfest.

Wapakoneta @ Marion Local

• Perennial small school state champion against D3 R12 contender. ML cruised last year against Wapak 31-6 en route to a 16-0 D7 state title. Wapak finished 9-3 bowing out in the second round of the playoffs.
