They should have just played their last game. You'd have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to play them now.
 
St. Edward coach Tom Lombardo said that because the Ohio High School Athletic Association does not sanction Bishop Sycamore as an opponent, playing them does not factor into the computer rankings or playoff rankings.

“It’s a glorified scrimmage, really, for the teams who are willing to play them,” Lombardo told USA TODAY Sports.

Yet, St. Edward has had difficulty scheduling opponents, especially local ones, so the school is constantly looking for non-conference teams to face. Making matters more complicated for St. Edward is that the game was supposed to be a celebration.

“It was supposed to be our homecoming week, so we’d like to find another game,” Lombardo said. “We have reached out to other opponents, but now it's just a matter of finding one. If we can’t, we’re not sure what we’re going to do. We may just take the bye week. They may not even be around by Week 6, so it leaves us in a very tough spot. It’s just far enough away that we have some time.”

I, for one, am feeling charitable and would like to help a fellow single-ed school like St. Ed's.

Bishop Sycamore was named for a bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, even though the AME totally disavowed affiliation with Sycamore's predecessor, COF Academy:

Roy Johnson, the self-described “face” of the program and its leader, went public in July, mere weeks before the football season was set to begin.
He said the school was a private online Christian school tied to the Third District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The plan, he said, was to use a powerhouse football program to give underprivileged and low-income students a shot at higher education.
The school also was going to build a massive campus on 7 acres in northeast Columbus near Easton Town Center, Johnson said

You're correct. If you google the name , there is no record of a Bishop Sycamore. If you go to the AME Church site and look for retired bishops, there is not Sycamore, The lsi of currect bishops does not include the name " Sycamore."

AME has denied any affiliation. Looks like BS was using the claim to get credibility.
 
Is it just me or is the funniest ( or pathetic ) part of this whole thing the fact that they tried to sound like a Catholic school ?! I mean how does that discussion go exactly ? Yeah we will form a program that isn’t really a school at all , but we will name it so it not only makes people think it’s definitely a school but we will bring the Catholic Church into it to add to the scam ?

No possible fake sounding moniker like “. Sycamore Institute , “. Or “Sycamore . Academy “ or “ Sycamore “ Prime time Prep “. ?. We need to fully commit to this thing . Hey I know. “. Let’s throw a Saint or an Archbishop , in front of Sycamore ? Hmm. No. Bishop will do . Where’s the chapel ? Is religion a mandatory class?

I think the "classes" were all via the RPA College I mentioned a few pages back. If that were the case, the only studying that was going on was to become licensed nutrition specialists.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church has bishops. But they've disavowed themselves from this farce since the COF Academy days.
