Hubbard at Girard II WEEK 11

After suffering a program crushing loss to Girard in week 8 (49-14) Hubbard could have thrown in the towel. They could have lost at home to Niles, they could have let South Range blow them off the field 60-0. Instead it was a wake up call.

Following the loss, Hubbard flipped the entire playbook. This led to a comfortable win vs Niles, holding Gardner to negative rushing yards. Against SR Hubbard played with pride losing 28-0. Hubbard had chances to score inside the 10 yard line in this game, to tie early and cut it to one score in the third quarter.

I know this isn't a great year for Hubbard football. My point is Hubbard hasn't given up like we thought they would. The staff made the necessary changes and the kids are playing for something. Hubbard still has holes in the secondary. The Eagles kept South Range in check for the most part on the ground, but got torched in the air. As for this game.

Girard is the obvious favorite coming in, once again. Even with the injuries. I expect Sims will start at QB for Girard. In the week 8 game, Sims had one of the best first halves that I've ever seen a player have. Hubbard has to limit him if they want to have a chance here. I think we see a much better effort from Hubbard this time around. The power spread is working, much better than the Wing T ever did. Against SR Hubbard took their best linemen off the line and put him at fullback as a lead blocker. It was effective as Hubbard moved the ball, they just couldn't finish drives against a great defense. I hope they stick with it this week.

Looking forward to hopefully an exciting game.

This game is going to be completely different this time around. The Girard defense needs to step it up. Don't like the direction of that side of the ball the last few weeks. Actually since the South Range game, it hasn't been good

Girard totally humiliated Hubbard in week #8 by a whopping score of 49-14. I would imagine those numbers will come up quite frequently this week for both teams as well as they should.

No way that is happening this time. Too many other factors going on from back then, until now. Not sure on #9 for Girard either. Hubbard will be fired up, and want to prove that game was a farce. Girard will probably be complacent, since they had such an easy game, the first time they played.

Could someone explain to me what #2 from Hubbard was doing congratulating the SR players after almost every positive play last night? I realize most of these kids are friends off the field with social media and what not but on the field the opposite team was the enemy. Once the game was over, then you do the congratulations. Never seen anything like that in my life. I can see helping a guy up but high fiving a kid after he just burnt one of your teammates? Unbelievable!

I've said many times on here and I'll say it again, State Championship banners travel well. How many does "the beautiful" have hanging?
Keep thinking that way troll.

I'm curious you being an "equal hater between Hubbard and Girard", why are you even on this thread?

So your answer is none then? I know you probably just learned the term "troll", here's another one for ya...."public forum".

This thread is fun, two teams that have been futile since forever. The winner gets the prize of getting railed in the second round.

The winner here plays the winner of Jefferson - Poland.. lol

If Sims is 100% and plays, this is a rout again. Hubbard has no team speed at all, and it showed big time on the defensive side of the ball. I just don't see Hubbard keeping up with Girard. 35-14 finals for the tribe.
