does anyone have a little deeper lists like maybe the top 25 in each event and perhaps broke down by divisions. would love to see those

Here are the updated lists as of the end of the 2009 season thanks to moemancc. ...

800 Meter Run FAT

9 1:53.80 1985 Mike Borellis Greenhills State 5th
10 1:54.12 1983 Mark Courtney Purcell State 4th
...

The quote above is excerpted from post #679, which is the latest version of this event that I can find.

According to my records the following should be added to this list.

1:52.82 2006 William Johnson Lakota East State 1st

Also my records differ for the 7th entry. Can you recheck that entry.
Our Lakota Records currently show;

1:53.57 1984 Jim Hedrick Lakota State 5th

Which is a slighly worse time and a slightly better finish in the state meet.

Bob, the Cincinnati District Coaches Association is setting up a web site where JAVMAN83, I and Seek Up are putting together a new top ten which will be expanded to 25 deep soon. I'd like you to be an advisor with our little group if you are interested. We're also putting up pictures on state champions. Lakota won two in the early 80s. Send me your email in a PM if you wish to help us where you can. To answer your question.

1. We now have William Johnson second on our list in the 800m. This should be the Lakota East record also.

William Johnson ran 1:52.24 at the Nike Outdoor Nationals June 17, 2006. Here is the link to those results.

http://nc.milesplit.com/meets/15074/results/35727.

2. I checked two sources on Jim Hedrick, both show the same time listed in #7 and the same place in #7. One is from an issue of The Athlete published by the OHSAA. Another is from the 1985 State meet program which shows the 1984 results.

I would be happy to participate in your project. My e-mail can be found at westfirebirds.com On the front page of westfirebirds is a link labeled Athletic Dept. which leads to an interior page that contains my e.mail address.

Also, thanks for the help on my two Lakota 800 meter record questions.

It looks like the shot put mark set in 1975 by Jeff Glos of Amelia will be challenged this year by Mack Tudor of Western Brown who finished 2nd at the state indoor meet with a toss of 62' 3.25".

I used to do alot of hand-timed 100 yard dashes back in the early 70's. Still have that same well-working stopwatch. I recently witnessed Dallas Burroughs of Idaho go 10.38 FAT to win the state 100 meters and break the previous state record. I purposely hand-timed him in that race at 100 yards (2 other watches as well). My watch had him at 9.3...the other two at 9.3 and 9.25. Not saying it always applies...but it would appear that adding 1.1 seconds to a hand-timed 100 yard dash, will get you pretty darn close to the kid's FAT 100 meters.
In that case there were a lot of really fast kids back in the day who were running 9.5 - 9.7 100 yard dashes, who would all be around the 10.7, 10.8 range if converted to 100 meter FAT's....my 2 cents. I think you're selling some of these guys short. Earl Richardson of Dayton Dunbar consistently put up 9.6's back in the late 60's and Lamar Pryor and Jeff Phillips did the same in the early 70's. Though he rarely ran the 100 after his sophomore year, other than Burroughs, I've never seen anyone any faster in H.S. though than Chris Nelloms. Had he run the 100 meters and focused on it his Sr. year, I'm convinced, given that he ran 10.03 his soph. yr. at Ohio State, that Nelloms would hold that state record too.

A couple additions to your lists for some NCH runners.

I was looking at the District DII results from this year and noticed that an NCH girl with the last name Chapell still holds the girls DII disrtict record in the 100 meter dash with a 11.80 in 1989.

Here is the link: http://www.baumspage.com/tf/sw/2012/newrichmond/2/2012/New Richmond DII District Results 2012.htm

Also, the NCH girls won the DIII 4x200 state title this year with a 1.45.08. Not sure where that lands or if it is in the Cincy all-time top 10. Even more impressive is that the first two legs of that relay team were freshmen this year and the anchor as an 11th grader.

Now, onto the boys. Senior to be Lamar Hargrove won the 100 and 200 state titles this year in DII. He set the DII 200 state record this year in the regionals with a 21.37. Not sure where that is in the Cincy all-time top 10 but it has to be up there. No way he can get to Nelloms' 20.47 but he may be able to get below 21 next year. He ran a 21.51 in the state finals heat. He also popped off a 10.71 in the 100 in the regional finals and had a 10.80 in the state prelims. The boy can move and it will be fun to see what times he can hit next year.

they are in the process of being updated jwuerth. As long as the times were fat times then they are added for the sprints.

Jwuerth...and the rest of the universe:

I'm in the process of updating ALL district records for SWOTCAAA for publication on their website. While I've updated all records through 2012, I've been tasked with separating the marks set over metric distances from those set over yards of the past. There's been a mish-mash of mixed yards/meters records for the past 32 years. SWOTCCCA has asked that those made over yards be put on a separate list. I am doing that currently.

If you go to http://www.swotccca.com/Documents/CityRecords/District Meet Records - Girls.pdf
you'll see the mixed records for the girls.

Here's the mixed record group for the boys: http://www.swotccca.com/Documents/CityRecords/District Meet Records - Boys.pdf

This leads into the issue with regard to the "record" of Chappell, although she's not the only one.

Darlene Chappell does NOT hold the district record of 11.8 MT. This has been a HUGE error in the record keeping for the past 20+ years. Darlene won 2 district titles in the 100 YARDS, not meters. Both wins were in 1978 and 1979 before the switch over to meters in 1980. She never won a district sprint title after 1979. Also, her best over the 100 yards was 11.5 MT in 1978, not 11.8 MT in 1979.

I have almost every winning mark from both the boys district meets (1923-present) and girls (1975-present) that will be published later this summer by SWOTCCCA. I'll also make it available here on Yappi.

Regarding all-time lists, current top 10 lists are available from SWOTCCCA.

Boys - http://www.swotccca.com/Documents/C... & Field - All-Time Top 10 - Boys - Rev 0.pdf

Girls - http://www.swotccca.com/Documents/C...& Field - All-Time Top 10 - Girls - Rev 0.pdf

Lancermania, myself, SeekUp, and several other people acting as information repositories and checkers are helping us to compile as accurate and complete lists as we can.
Both the boys and girls top 10 lists are being corrected and expanded to encompass the top 25 athletes. In some events, I have as deep as top 50, but SWOTCCCA aims to publish top 25 later this year. Top 50 is for a future date...at some point...some time.

In addition to Skins99 comments, not only is FAT required for making the official all-time lists, but also WIND-LEGAL readings of 2.0 meters-per-second or less are necessary. Otherwise, anything over 2.0 mps goes onto wind-aided lists. Performances with no wind information also do not go onto the official lists, and those that are made with manual timing (MT) go onto their own individual, unofficial lists.

Hope that info helps.

Carlos Tipton ran 14.49 in the regional prelims in 2000 to qualify to the finals, but I can't find him running in the finals. What happened to him? He just missed the top ten with his 14.49 because 10th place is 14.40.

He fell in the finals and got DQ'd.

I didn't get any info on the CAPE team. It is an observation based on the fact that Carlos Snow (aka the Blizzard) graduated in 1985, and, therefore, could not have been on a relay team in 1988. The same goes for Vinnie Clark, I believe.[/QUOTE

Clark and Snow graduated in 1987,
Thanks for the clarification. I'm not sure what made me think they were seniors in 1985.

All I can say is Middletown can argue alot of times and records. I know you dont want to include them. But they are tough!

All I can say is Middletown can argue alot of times and records. I know you dont want to include them. But they are tough!
Actually, it's not about wanting to include them. A set of criteria was put together, and Middletown did not meet the requirements. They would have a boatload of performances on these lists.

That is 100 % fact.

If you want the list updated here on Yappi, I guess I can do that also. http://www.swotccca.com/Documents/Rankings/Cincinnati Track & Field All-Time Top 25 Boys Meters Standard Events2.pdf

Your beloved Warriors are still listed as #8 after the 2018 updates.

Well, a slightly different group of WW Warriors ran 42.28 in the semi's and 42.04 inthe 4x100 relay at the regional meet in Dayton in 2015. This was on Baumspage. Kenny Maebry, Chaz Lumpkin, Lionell McConnell, and Christian Lumpkin. This isn't on the updated list.

Not sure where the names listed are any different than what is on the list unless you mean the order of the runners is not the same.
