Yes that's true. However, the Irish lost to Massillon in 2012, yet when on to win the championship.

You are right. I made a mistake. First mistake this year!!

SVSM defeated a very good Massillon team in 1991, 28-25. The Irish went on to lose to Lake Catholic 35-14 in the state semi-final. Lake Catholic won the title that year. The Tigers went to the state semi-final, losing to St. Ignatius 14-13. That one still hurts.

I expect this to be a very close game played by 2 very good teams. St.V has some big time players as do the Tigers. I honestly think that which ever team turns the ball over fewest wins this game. for Massillon it is crucial they don't let Campbell get the ball in the open field as much as possible. And if im St.V I would blitz all night long at Clark. it will be interesting to say the least and im looking forward to a great game!

I have thought about this game quite a bit as far as a prediction. I see SVSM as about 2-3 td's better than Massillon, however I thought Fitch would beat Massillon by 10-14 points and they escaped with a 3 point win at home. SVSM is a top 2/3 team in NE Ohio.

Prediction: SVSM 34 Massillon 23

We'll give you one a year, but now the pressure is on to pitch a shutout for the next 2.5 months!

Game day!!! I am beyond excited for this game. I wish I was heading down there now instead of leaving in 8 hours. This should be a great one. Obviously, the Irish rarely win this game. They have to tighten up the offense and keep playing great D. If they execute and aren't sloppy on offense, then St V-M has a very good chance. I'm not going to predict the outcome because it's such a tough place to get a win. But I like our chances!

Here's to a well played game with zero injuries. Go Irish!

Where is the championship trophy?!? Oh, there aren't any! The Tiger tradition is printed on paper and the Irish tradition is forged in trophy factories. Would you rather win a popularity contest or earn your championship on the field?!?

I see where Marquia Turner has transferred to hoover for girls basketball.

I fully expect to see levi, y2h, 12346, hoovers1, ccrunner, kingdaddy, and even m2m standing on the front steps of hoover hs protesting the acceptance of this transfer. After all, she will be a Sr. this coming season and that is what you guys have whined about for years, players coming into Massillon for their Sr. year only.

abby alderling or however you spell is said she's not sure if she's ever met the young lady.

Nice pickup hoover.

Girls softball and basketball are fine to recruit it. Just not football!

Game day...I'm stoked....

Massillon has a very very big challenge ahead of it...I think the Irish are properly placed as the favourite....they have played better football to date....

Though the Irish have the 2 best players on the field tonight...talent in my eyes is pretty much a wash..Massillons overall depth is far greater....Campbell will most likely see Rogers(also being looked at by the Bucks) most of the night on both sides of the ball when he's wide... Crabtreee when he is in the backfield...He'll make plays but will find space a bit more difficult to come by...

The Irish D causes me far more concern...they are scary good...my biggest concern is that I have seen very little from our coaching staff putting our kids in a position to succeed against pressure packages...

Fortunately DB is no genius either.....I think Hall figures something out this week and DB...is slow to adjust....

That being said I see it as a pick em game...I wouldnt put a dime on this game unless I could get the 28 slainte predicted....then I bet the house....

This is likely the best team we have faced this year...AF vs StV would also be a hell of a game...

We are the best team StV has faced...

should be a slobber-knocker...hoping both teams come out healthy...

Sorry...had to much stout with my whiskey after a long shift at the potato soup factory. The police were nice enough to give me a ride in the paddy wagon and served me soda bread for breakfast. LMAO
