The Game
I know basketball doesn't get a lot of love on here and this is a football thread, but what Kremer and his staff have built and maintained is remarkable. Their dominance of Ohio basketball the last couple years is pure greatness. To run the table and go undefeated this year after losing Hayes and Davenport last year just shows the coaching and dedication of the players is second to none. I may be biased, but we have the best high school basketball coach in the state! Congrats to the 2018-2019 team!!!!! 49 wins in a row....only losing to 1 Ohio team (by 1 point) in three years and back to back championships!

Maybe the new football HC can go and sit in Kremer's office for a while and learn a thing or two!

I wish him luck but I believe this to be a very poor decision.

The following question is not an indictment of the selection of Nauman as I don't know anything about him but.....

If Moeller did a national search as they claimed, is this the best candidate? There were no other candidates with successful head coaching track records who were interested and qualifed?

(On a side note I would only imagine coaches in the tri state or Ohio would be interested, unless they lived elsewhere and had Cincinnati ties)

The Winton Woods coach is all over social media saying he was offered job but turned down. Shady

I wish him well and hope he goes on a great run. The hiring is a little puzzling to me, too. As you said, if there was a lengthy "national" search for the best candidate, I find it hard to believe we are here. It's nothing against Naumann. I know he LOVES Moeller and passionately wanted the job. However, I've never heard anyone mention him as a HC until Rosfeld left. I don't think he was ever a finalist for the job when Rody or Rosfeld landed the job. It never felt like Naumann was an assistant waiting in the wings to take over. I wonder what drastically changed? It almost feels like a safe hire....to keep everything together that Rosfeld started. Like you said, I would have to believe there were many successful head coaches out there that would covet the job. Again, I hope Naumann goes on to great things with the program.

I looked for that on Twitter, didnít see anything. If he was asked the question directly, I applaud his honesty. If he was unprovoked, thatís highly unprofessional.

I was told that the only job offer was made to Todd Nauman who obviously accepted. It is my understanding that Archbishop Moeller did speak to a number of potential coaches but are professional enough to keep it confidential. I do not think an offer was made to Andre Parker from Winton Woods
at all. Again, Moeller has been very professional about the process and have not disclosed candidates.

I agree- I don’t think any “offer” was made, but I guess it is some kind of thrill to say they turned it down? It’s silly.

I can say with 100% accuracy that Andre Parker from Winton Woods was never offered the position.

It appears that Todd has hired former Hamilton head coach Chad Murphy. Looks like he will be the OC and qb coach. Does anyone know how much of dougs staff will be returning?

Todd's first big decision as HC was a good one! Offense needed a change of direction, badly.

I second that. Hopefully Majors stays on as a WR coach.

The head coach was selected by a committee of dads and alums who were given a list of potential head coaches, and the committee was required to narrow the options down through interviews or word of mouth. Then the committee's recommendations were handed to the heads of the school.

Can we really act like this was Nauman's hire? He did at least have the good sense to ask the man that Rosfeld had hired to stay.
I believe Nauman has hired Drew Nichols which is a smart hire. So, at least he is surrounding himself with good coaches.
