Nakamura just had a key play against Pittsburgh's Ben Rothlesburger. Impressive!

Does anyone have any info on who has applied for the job? Besides Crennel, Gruden, Cowher, and Dungy.

What difference does it make. Let's just hope we get a good coach, a good man, and a good motivator to lead the team.

You don't want to see her on a bad day...

I heard recently, via some connections with crack reporters (the kind that report about crack, not the kind that are good), that THE Haruki Nakamura is on the selection committee for the new coach.

Why don't we play Strongsville anymore? That was always a fun match-up.

2 year agreement that wasnt renewed for whatever reason, replaced with mentor though. Week 4 is going to be interesting, i went on the ohsaa for open dates and there was only 2 teams listed. I hope we can have a 10 game schedule, i hate the 9 week with a bye week.

I talked to a couple juniors yesterday and they really didn't have much to report. They did say coach Lev was a possibility who had applied two years ago for the job after Gibbons was let go.

It will take some toime. Let's just hope whoever they get will hit the ground running. Too much talent to not compete in Region 1.

Well, in other news, Alex Boone got arrested again.

Hope he can get it back together and not completely screw his chance for the NFL.

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward defensive back and wide receiver Latwan Anderson has added to his scholarship offer list. The 5-foot-11 and 185-pounder Anderson already had offers from Michigan State and Cincinnati. His latest two offers have come from Michigan and Duke.

Anderson, who has run the 100-meter dash in 10.4 seconds, intercepted four passes during his junior season.

Anderson attended the Buckeyes' December 20 junior day and talked to Jim Tressel and Taver Johnson while in Columbus. Anderson is among the Top 20 juniors in Ohio. He's a guy I could see the Buckeyes making an early offer. Anderson has Ohio State high on his list.

Tressel locked down the state of Ohio with his class of 2009. The only in-state player the Buckeyes wanted that went elsewhere was defensive back Justin Turner who signed with Michigan.

They are being very quiet looking for the right coach. Luckily the right people are in place this time to pick a head coach. My guess is we will know something by the end of the month and we will be happy over time with who they pick.

Have faith GE. I have a strong feeling that this time we will get it right. Now if we were talking about Cleveland's professional teams that's another story.

Wiggins is the HC at Columbus DeSales. I don't see this one happening. DeSales grad, very young HC, been around the program for a long time. Not sure he would leave DeSales.

Finotti is the DC at Mayfield. Mayfield's D was very impressive this season.

No clue on the other guy or his credentials.

Coach Polo is a St. Edward grad. was on Coach Gibbons staff, Head Coach of the JV during his tenure as well. Now over at Elyria Catholic as their DC I believe. A young coach, reminds me of Gerry Rardin when he took over Walsh Jesuit's program my senior year. A young alum. with a passion for the school, its young men and the game.

I thought Rardin was not a popular figure at Walsh. Warrior...did your folks slip Rardin a little cash and you started at d tackle your senior year?

CatAlum, for not being a very popular HC (your words not mine) Gerry has managed to retain his position for over twenty-eight years now (I think that may be a longer tenure than even Chico). As for the parents offering cash for playing time, I was just lucky in that my track coach became the defacto DC my senior year.

I am not hearing any of these names. In fact I am hearing there is a fairly prominent coach on the burner right now. I don't think any of those 3 will be in the top 2.

Any idea of when they expect to hire and announce?
