This should be another really exciting year for the CHL, it seems like the race for being the champion in the division should be a close one.

Well considering all of us are Wyoming fans I don't expect this conversation to go far. How about we list the top players coming back for each team in 07. Of course, you boys can start off Wyoming and others can add in for their respective teams.

Well if I remember correctly, wyoming returns many of their skill guys back for the 2007 season. They also return Larry Black (OL/DL) who I believed has just verbaled to Indiana.

You know I'm familiar with Mages, and his two cousins from Reading who were excellent wrestlers, but is he really D1? I know about Bright and Black being D1 recruited, but I didn't know about Mages.

To add to this list would be Alex Birdsall, by this coming season, he will have started for the Cowboys for 3 years, and Cameron Boyd who is another to be 3 year starter.

indian hill and wyoming are talked about most which I understand because they probably have the most fans who regularly post on yappi and have very good traditions, but the league this year is much deeper than just those two teams. In fact, I think this could be one of the best years in the CHL overall in a long time. Indian Hill and Wyoming are going to be their usual very good selves. Deer Park and Finneytown have there best senior classes in years. And you can never count out reading and mariemont because they are going to have some talent and great coaching. I really look forward to the league and some of the amazing and close games that will be played. I think the competition during the season should help come playoff time too. I don't want to see EVERY chl team out of the playoffs after the first round.

After saying all that, I think there are four clear cut favorites with the most talent. Any of which with a few breaks could win the league.

Wyoming
Indian Hill
Deer Park
Finneytown

Then the next tier of teams are the ones that are going to have some talent and who you can never sleep on. I just don't see them having as much talent as that top 4.

Mariemont
Reading

Then the last tier I would be real surprised to hear a lot from this year. Not to say they are bad teams, but I just don't see them having enough talent to compete with the others on a game to game basis.

Madeira
Taylor

Hopefully we can get five playoff teams out of this bunch, even though it will be real tough. Indian hill (d-III), wyoming and finneytown (d-IV), deer park and reading or mariemont (d-V).

THIS JUST IN!!! WYOMING IS DROPPING OUT OF THE CHL!!!

Yes, Wyoming (at leat "goreds") felt that since most of their players are going to be D1 college players anyway, they should just drop out of the high school ranks and join the MAC. Please refer to them as "Wyoming University (Ohio)" from this point on.

Reading will be good with Michael Welling,Mason Myers,Corey Woodward,Garret Edwards, and others. If they can manage alittle offense, they will certainly compete. This should be a great year for the CHL.

I would not say he's way too slow, I mean the man plays wide reciever so he must have some kind of speed, he's just not the fastest wide reciever in the league.

OK, so he's not the fastest wide receiver in the league, he's also not the biggest wide receiver in the league. The CHL is lucky to get one WR a year to D1 a year, how is that going to go to him. How can you honestly think he's a D1 player. He is a good HS football player, but certainly not a D1 guy.

You know I hate to keep this thread all about Mages, but I have one more thing to say, I expect a breakout year from this kid and his quarterback John Wirtz, and I see both of these players becoming big stars and a huge threat to other teams. So I can see some larger colleges having some interest in Mages, and even Wirtz.

The reality is there may only be 2 or 3 players in the in the CHL that could get Div. 1 offers. Let's not bang on any players but pat them on the back for the hard work they do to get ready for the season.
