Actress Margot Kidder, Who Played Lois Lane, Dies At 69

Margot Kidder, who became famous for playing Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in Superman, has died at her home in Montana. Kidder was 69; her acting career spanned decades, from TV series in the late 1960s to seven films in the past five years.

A cause of death has not yet been publicly released for Kidder. Her death was announced by the Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, Mont., where she resided.

"The actress and activist passed away on Sun., May 13, 2018 at her home," the funeral home said.

My condolences to Ms. Kidder's family. Boy, that seems awfully young these days.

I must be a heel, but I thought she was a strange choice for the role of Lois Lane. I blame Phyllis Coates for my having unrealistically high expectations, lol.

My first memory of Margot Kidder as an actress was the "Nichols" TV show, circa 1971, starring James Garner. I watched it faithfully every week, but the Nielsen Co. wasn't paying attention because NBC cancelled it after a few months. I don't recall hearing her name again until "Superman" with Christopher Reeve.
