Best Conference/League Meets

What are some of the best league meets in the state?

For about 20 years I would've said the GCL in Cincinnati dominated the landscape of boys D1 xc. The past 5 years has been led by only St. X dominating the conference.

The MAC is also another good conference- with girls xc in the state of Ohio.

Ohio Capital Conference is so large that this conference has to be considered with overall depth very strong with almost every D1 Columbus school.

Right now I would say the GWOC gets the nod with girls xc.
Centerville - 3 straight state titles, Troy- state runner up last year, Beavercreek top 4 in the state the last 5 years, Springboro- many individuals recently, and Lebanon. This conference went 1-2-3 in the girls D1 state meet last year. On the D2 side Tipp City girls are also in this conference- finishing 5th in their conference meet. How many teams can do that and finish that high at state!!!

Any major conferences I am missing in the Northeast?

In the NE, I would probably give the nod to the Greater Cleveland Conference, maybe even for both genders:
Mentor
Solon
Strongsville
Shaker Hts.
Brunswick
Medina
Elyria
Euclid

For a while in the early to middle part of this decade (until last year) the OCC Central had Davidson, Coffman, Thomas Worthington, Olentangy Liberty, Upper Arlington, Marysville, Central Crossing and Westland. We had a couple times when 4 boys and 5 girls teams were ranked.

If you consider the OCC as a whole (31 teams) it has to be thought of as one of the top XC conferences and pretty clearly the best track and field conference. I agree that for girls XC the GWOC is clearly the top conference right now.

In the southwest Dayton area

GWOC is definitely the most competitive. Like OP said, at GWOC D1 girls will be exciting. I'm making a trip up to watch the race. Guy's race should be competitive as well, but Centerville will dominate. Lebanon guys are also looking pretty good and should get 2nd.

GCL (Big Schools) - St. X will win by a large margin with Elder being in the mix. GCL south has just been dominated by St. X for so long. For the girls Ursuline and St. Ursula should have a good battle for the title, with McAuley not far behind.

GCL (Small Schools) - Less competitive of the 3. Alter girls have been on a roll for multiple years now and have 9? wins in a row. Carroll guys have also dominated for multiple years, but this year they have a much stronger team then any of the co-ed schools.
