JH state CC meet

There seems to be multiple races and different places ran by different people. Can someone post a link to info for the JH state race?

Both are good meets. The OHSAA one is only a couple years old but is also held on same day as districts for HS.

The other has been around a while and is pretty neat and is held on a sunday. They take the winners out and put them into a pink limo and bring them to the awards stand in front of the stands. Also, the ohio cross country one allows elementary kids, not just MS.

yj_runfan is an unknown quantity at this point
Reminds me of all the "state championship" tournaments in kids soccer and all the "super bowls" in pee-wee football.

If this is true it is my opinion that anyone taking part in this meet in any capacity is part of the problem.

Each of this year's winners receive a 5 lb. gummy bear.

I thought competitive cheerleading was bad, too. I forget how many different national championships exist in that sport.

My two cents--I've had a boy and girl compete in the OHSAA version in the past few years and I don't think it's worth the hassle. It's nothing like the OHSAA track meet--that felt like a big deal to compete in. The main way to qualify for cross country is to have your check clear before the meet. If you could truly qualify as a team and individuals somehow, I think it would be fun.
