CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers center Kevin Love is out against the Philadelphia 76ers because of a sore left hip.

Love went through warmups Saturday before the decision to hold him out was made. He injured the hip Wednesday against Memphis, but played Friday against Indiana, scoring 20 points in 26 minutes.

Love played in Cleveland's first 26 games, averaging 19.2 points and 10.4 rebounds.

Ante Zizic started at center against Philadelphia. Sixers center Joel Embiid is also out because he has yet to be cleared to play on back-to-back nights following offseason knee surgery.

Cleveland is also playing without Tristan Thompson (strained left calf), Derrick Rose (sprained left ankle), Isaiah Thomas (strained right hip) and Iman Shumpert (left knee surgery).

Very good win on a back to back. Could have easily tanked that one after arriving back in Cleveland at 4am

How long does it take to recover from a 'strained left calf"?

He was out due to knee soreness. Supposedly precautionary and nothing serious

I'm most impressed you somehow got a Y at the beginning of "Cavs." None of c, a, v or s are really that close to Y.

Since this is a Cavs thread, I'll throw this one out there. Is there any concern about LeBron's minutes. He's playing over 37 minutes per game this season. He's no doubt the league MVP to date, he's on another level, but this team is slowly creeping back the old days where LeBron HAS to be on the floor for this team to flourish. Supposedly, the team is much deeper than years past, but LeBron simply won't sit. I would be concerned that he'll be out of gas by March at this current pace.

He's averaged between 36-38 mpg every season for the last 7 years. Certainly it would be ideal to cut his minutes as he gets older, but thus far his body has shown no signs of breaking down in the slightest, and the Cavs have been without their 2nd best player for the entire season so far, as well as having a variety of other key contributors on and off the injury report.

Do you really think LeBron is going to cut his minutes when Isaiah Thomas comes on board? I just don't think he wants to cut his minutes, and no one can tell him to sit. LeBron is probably one of the least injured athletes in NBA history. He's in phenomenal condition, and has rarely missed any time, especially with the physical nature of his game. But at some point, when does the minutes start to pile up. Why play 41 minutes on Dec. 17th vs the Wizards?? All I'm saying it's something to consider.

Maybe. He's averaged basically the same MPG since his Miami days so maybe he feels like 37mpg is where he's comfortable. I trust LeBron to know what his body can handle because as you said, he's one of the best conditioned athletes ever.

Jordan averaged 39mpg when he was 34(year older than LeBron.) Should Phil have restricted his minutes?

Yes, I said he's in great shape. Jordan played 2 guard, the pace was much slower, more 1/2 court and much less contact. Now one thing LB doesn't have to deal with is guys taking charges on him because that's been declared illegal. We'll see how things turn out.

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now, and I'm starting to believe LeBron has just said f**k it to this whole rest for the playoffs thing, now that the Warriors have Durant. He knows he's only got a few years of prime basketball left, and since it's highly unlikely they can win a Finals with the Durant Warriors in existence, he may as well have fun winning during the regular season and maybe grab another MVP or two in the process

Because LeBron is playing at his most consistent in years, and Dwyane Wade has solidified the second unit, that's Y.

Gunnin for the #1 points title (attainable), top 30 rebounders (attainable), top 5 assist (might not get that one) and top 5 steals (attainable).

There could be some truth to this. I think more likely is he wants to show Kyrie heís a far superior player than him.

I think it's a bit nuts to imagine Lebron James believing he has no shot to beat any opponent.

He's playing the same # of minutes he has the last 7 seasons. I don't see anything crazy going on thus far in terms of his usage or effort.
