No. Has to be a lot of upsets for that to happen. A lot

Things will happen that we don’t expect in week 10 so we will see how it all
Shakes up. Hoping for as many valley teams in as possible

I believe East will be Hubbard's test in the regular season...

Absolutely! And good luck to your boys the rest of the way. Its almost that time! Man did sitting at home week 11 last year suck.

East is good I think they are a little more grounded this week against Harding and we will see how they respond against Hubbard.

With easy beating Canfield, if Hubbard goes 10-0 they can jump Steubenville for the 1 seed

I guess I should've been clearer. I know this stuff is complicated. lol

Here's what it would take for the rematch to happen.

Hubbard needs to win out. They should jump ahead of a 9-1 Perry.
East Liverpool needs to lose to WierÖ that's a toss up. Indian Creek would need to lose to Crestview... Rebels are favored. Both those games are this week.
Struthers needs to win out. They should.
Poland needs to lose their last 2. Hubbard should crush them, but that Canfield game is a real toss up. I still like Canfield, but it could go either way.
CVCA needs to lose to Akron Manchester next week... Manchester is favored.
Girard would need to lose to LaBrae this week and beat Liberty next week. Beating LaBrae and losing to Liberty wouldn't work.

If all that happens, the rematch will be on.
I suppose there are other scenarios in which Girard/Hubbard 2 could happen in week 11, but what I've spelled out above is the most realistic.

If Hubbard gets the 2 seed and Girard wins out and gets the 4 seed, the only way the rematch would happen is in the Regional Final... good luck with that. lol

Correct!
I didn't even consider this. Throw all my projections out the window. lol
Fantastic 50 has a 10-0 Hubbard with a Harbin average of 27.70. And a 9-1 Steubenville with a Harbin average of 27.53.

So here's what it would take now... I figured it out.

1. Hubbard 10-0
2. Steubenville 9-1
3. Perry 9-1
4. Girard 9-1
5-8 would be inconsequential.
Hubbard and Girard would need to win their week 11 games to set up the rematch in week 12. I'm guessing Hubbard would play a 7-3 Indian Creek in the first round and Girard would play 6-4 East.

Who knows, though.

Thanks for all the scenarios. Iíve been so wrapped up following R21 I havenít been able to sort through the others. I like this one best, though Iím not sure Girard would beat East.

No problem. That's all I've really paid attention to this year is Region 13. 1-3 are pretty much wrapped up, aside from seeding. 4-8 are still wide open.
Girard has the best shot at the 4 seed. Then East Liverpool. Then Indian Creek. But if they all lose this week, a very real possibility, Youngstown East will have the inside track to the 4 seed.
Unless Poland wins this week..
And if Girard, EL, and IC all lose this week, it would open up a path to the 5 seed for Struthers..

I think I've done enough speculating. Best to just let it all play out now and examine the aftermath.
Still so much is up in the air.

As a Struthers guy, I'm hoping East will end up with the 4 seed and Struthers the 5 seed. I'm confident that we'll get in. If not the 5 vs East, I'd like to match up with Steubenville... it'd be good experience, with most of the team set to return next year.
Played Perry last year, and play Hubbard every year. And there's nothing like playing Steubenville in the playoffs.

Or East could just beat Harding this week to lock up the 4 seed.
Like I said, it's still wide open.

Hubbard needs to take it one week at a time like they have all season. We look ahead to East and Poland can keep this close. Will be interesting to see if Donlow and Tarver are a go this week.

Poland is better than the cats on defense in the front 7 but slower. Their offensive line might allow Poland to have a few drives to take some time off the clock. Thatís the only reason why the game might be close. Daniels ready to go this week? I know he got banged up last week

Daniel's should be good to go. Minor stinger in that 3rd Q last week. Stayed out as a precaution. If anything maybe they keep everything with him on the ground this week. Hubbard played a pretty clean game last week after an ugly 1st Q. The eagles need to bring that discipline and focus to Poland. They need to be sharp and stay sharp to set a precedent for the playoffs. Will be interesting to see if Morales sees time on defense again like he did vs Struthers. Definitely adds something to what was already fast aggressive defense led by MLB Lukas Mosora.

Not only that. But if Pasteurs L2 projections are off just a game or 2., when the numbers are that close it could move up, or drop a teams seeding 1 position. Those numbers are not set in stone either

That was my point. lol

It's hard not to cheer for East. Have to respect what they've accomplished. No one gave them a shot... football in the Valley is better when the city school(s) are doing well.
I'm very interested to see what happens when Cylar leaves next year. Will any kids follow him to Chaney? The Golden Bears JV squad was solid, so the cupboard isn't empty.
Amil is a very important piece of their coaching staff, too. Is he at East for the long term? Will he jump to Chaney with Cylar? Could he be interested in a head coaching job somewhere? Maybe Campbell or Howland, if either of those jobs were to open up?

Tying this all back to Hubbard, could a return to prominence for East/Chaney football hurt Hubbard down the line?
Marrow's message all along has been that they want to give the kids a reason to stay in Youngstown. You have to believe that Cylar will take that same mantra with him to Chaney.

Hubbard will be fine. East as a program seems like they have coaches committed with a solid foundation. I wish them nothing but the best and I'm glad to see them doing well. Hubbard is still appealing to families for a lot of reasons. Most of the kids who come to Hubbard come because their families move to Hubbard for a better situation and opportunity. The Smiths, Lanes, and Scotts for example. The ones who do come OE come for a great education and the exposure of playing in front of a packed house with state of the art facilities. If anything I think Hubbard will benefit more from Ursuline being down than I think they lose out on East being good in the coming years.

I also think East possibly coming back will take away from Ursuline and Mooney more than anything.

Amill is going to be the HC at Chaney, not Cylar so I didn't think Cylar was even headed there.

I know a lot of the kids like Cylar. Wherever he goes, he will get the talent. Definitely picture him the head man at Chaney, and he will get kids to go there.

Amil is taking over at Chaney next year. Cylar is staying at East, as of now. My bad. I confused Amil with Cylar.
I could see Cylar having some interest in the Campbell job. I could also see him staying at East for a while, though. Possibly as a successor to Marrow one day.

I gotcha. Although he would be a good fit for Chaney. I don't know much about Amil, but I do know about Cylar a bit from being at Harding. I don't think Howland would never hire him though. Can't picture that fit at all.
