The GCL is going to be an absolute meat grinder. All 4 teams looked really good this week.

Interesting development, Wayne got absolutely pecker slapped by Pine Richland from Pitt. PR is good, but Wayne looked shytty. Right now, PC looks like the top dog in that Region.

Really interested in the Ignatius/Mentor, Moe/Trinity, and X/Colerain games. Not sure why EC keeps playing LS.

LW/Centerville will be telling for Elder. Centerville beat up what many thought to be the #2 team in the GMC in Fairfield. If LW can hang with Centerville or even beat them I will feel better about Elder.

I expect West to hang with everyone they play, their Defense is that good. However, they'll probably end up 5-5, bc their Offense is so bad. They'll lose a lot of 14-10, 10-7 type of games.

The GMC is very good this year, and I don't consider FF the 2nd best. As I said, right now (key word), Mason and Sycamore are 1A and 1B. By the end of the year, that probably changes as Colerain's new starters get more experienced.

Centerville was up 42-7 over West and put the running clock on them.

Well...as you said, they put the running clock on them.

Elder has their hands full through week 10. Perhaps they can pull out a game or two they shouldn't win through sheer will alone, but you could argue they aren't the better team (or wouldn't be favored) in 6 or 7 of their final 8 games.

I still say going 6-4 would be a great accomplishment with this team and the schedule this year. .500 or lower is a possibility, however.

Is the GMC really all that good this year?

Here's a list of the following GMC teams that are 0-2:
Colerain
Fairfield
Hamilton
Lakota West
Middletown
Princeton

If Elder takes care of business OH will be 0-2 also. So currently 6 of 10, with a chance for 7. Bad year for them to go to the 8-game schedule.

That's pretty pathetic.it definitely takes a lot of the shine off that win last week. CV might be back, but there's zero excuse for West to be that awful. I guess it's in the rest of the city's best interest Cox stays at West bc a somewhat competent coach could turn them around. But damn, he's awful

Colerain will continue to get better. However, they have to beat either Mason or Sycamore if they want to be a lock for the playoffs. They might sneak in at 6-4, but in that conference, there's not a lot of L2s up for grabs.

This has me thinking Harbins, and I am not smart enough to do the actual math.

Let's say Elder takes care of Oak Hills today. So that would make the GMC a total of 6-14.

So in the whole league they only has 36 Level 2 points from outside the league. Because after this week the league will go .500.

Let's use Colerain as the example. Yes, they will get the level 2 from East, Mason, and Sycamore, but Middletown, Hamilton, Fairfield, West, and Oak Hills won't.

Now I have said since going back to 4 Regions You have to be in the top 8 of the top 11 teams.

Remember some teams are already out before the season even started, West, Hi, 5 GMC schools, Walnut Hills, and West Clermont don't have a shot.

Last edited by Vincent and Regina; 09-02-17 at 12:00 PM. Reason: Mason and East played a D2 team and Sycamore only played D2 and 3 teams.

Trinity beat Moeller 38-30. Moeller held a 17-0 lead. WR from Trinity, committed to Texas, had 22 receptions for 300 yards and 3 TDs.

WW v. Springboro seems interesting. If WW can win or keep it competitive, we know that Elder's game with them will be tough.

Not like we should overlook WW anyway...they've had our number for whatever reason.

From what I've seen, we should be able to go into Springboro and handle them. Mason put it on them pretty good and Middletown is garbage. Warriors are still 3 major players short handed but we should be too fast and strong for Springboro.

LW v Fairfield will have the most high level combined D1 talent playing in any game this year... and both are 0-2. Speaks to the importance of coaching at this level.

I haven't compared schedules but hard to believe anyone in the country is going to face a harder 4 game stretch of games (and maybe 5 if Gahanna or WW ends up going 8-2)

Colerain up 21-0 on Sycamore at half. Colerain moved Ivan Pace to RB and its paid off, close to 100 yds rushing at half.

LS up 21-7 @ half over Scott. X dismantling Cathedral 31-0. Cathedral will be 1-4. The combined record of the teams they've lost to is 10-2. Including the first 3 losses by a TD or less.
