There is no real answer anymore, none. Either live with it, or go it alone. I do see Crapview being in the mix in the next 5 years as their open enrollment thefts are slowing down and the Rubbles are still comparable size (hard count) as United, Columbiana and EP. Traveling to Trumbull County every week for the AAC will get monotonous. Not too dissimilar to when EP was in the Trumbull AA.
As monotonous as that drive may be for Crestview, that may be the best alternative for EP, Columbiana, and United.

It is what it is, the whole mess was created by small schools not wanting big schools, schools who wanted larger schools, schools whining about travel, schools whining about playing larger schools in cross tiers, schools who revolted due to open enrollment, the list goes on. It was nothing but a gripe session, no real winners, not even the MVAC, as they themselves wonder if Sebring will fail to field a team or now possibly Lowellville with such small counts.

As far as I am concerned, I echoed my sentiments to the point of being redundant, so be it.

There's the whole ball of wax, figure it out. By the time CB is added in, it becomes a joke.

Pretty sure Jackson Milton made this exact mistake back in the ITCL days...entered the numbers based on all 4 grades in the HS. I think that might have bumped them into the upper tier for a couple years.

They got pounded in the upper. Southern should have been there, but it was the ITCL total boy-girl enrollment back then, not just boys.

Their numbers for '13 and '14 had them with 147 boys and 116 girls. The '11 and '12 cycle was 119 boys and 114 girls. The '15 and '16 cycle was 87 boys and 71 girls.

There was a time from the initial tier set up both boy and girl enrollment was combined for tier placement. That lasted about 3 years.

At this point if I were any of the schools in EOAC I would concentrate on saving themselves from a scheduling nightmare and explore opportunities elsewhere regardless what everyone else does.

Wellsville will be better than people think. Not a true contender yet but they will be better.

How about a north and south aac version....Campbell and liberty have been rumored to leave and some of these schools already play each other. I think all are 5 or 6 and creates pretty good balance

Looks like a great idea.
And I believe crossover games wouldn't be the issue that they've been in the past.

Would like to see something like this. Makes a lot of sense..

Nothing that ever makes sense gets done...you can even throw liberty in north and Campbell in south (who at one time was heading for the itcl). Gives you 5 and 5 with all in D 5 and 6. No crybabies who left for the mvac and can rotate crossovers...as long as those schools will play crestview then it works...tell those guys to call their supers!

Not that they can't play them and compete, it's the actual reason why they won't play them.

It's no secret. Any Seniors show up, they are open enrollment transfers or moved into the district.

here is a novel thought - have 8 teams in a league and everyone plays everyone.

set perimeters of what size of schools are wanted and define the footprint

shaking it up like that could leave a handful of D7s sitting there and well they can form a league and try to get 8 d7 schools and there it is.

5 teams in this setup have made playoffs in recent years so I think it’s balanced...separate tiers allows flexibility for scheduling spring sports.

Why wouldn’t you just put all 8 in the same league? But the problem with these schools is long trips, especially once you get past football season.

So that your not required to make those trips for all sports...way easier to schedule baseball/softball and basketball games...do something like this for football

Carrollton must have some talent returning because we all know Tsilimos won't coach with a bare cupboard.

Total and complete Lie. The man came back to Lisbon when it was at rock bottom and spent several years building it up to be a winner again. I for one am very happy for Jim. Hope he has continued success at a larger school that is in the middle of a financial boom due to oil and gas. My prediction is that he turns that program around just as he did Lisbon in his last stint.

Give me a break. Not once, but TWICE he bailed out as soon as the talent ran dry. Lisbon was at “rock bottom” simply because there was no talent for several years. As soon as they had a few good groups of kids come through the youth/middle school programs he came back.

McElroy took over when the cupboard was bare last time. McElroy was there until a group was coming up through the grades then Tsilimos came storming back. He once again retired after 2017 and Lisbon had nothing. Hard not to believe otherwise.

Good point, he did not go all the way up there for a loaded team. The man mentioned he might be back if he missed it. Apparently he does. I do not understand how people can be so vicious to a guy who is a good man and did things right. His teams were always disciplined and played the game the right way. I always liked his style and the results he got from the kids at Lisbon, kids who loved the man. Anymore I just shake my head with the hate we have in this world.
