2019 Central Ohio Top Teams

Who should we be on the look out for this fall in an increasingly competitive central Ohio? Top teams? Teams on the rise? Coaches on the rise? Coaches on the hot seat? Breakout players? Let us get a great discussion going here.

Are you from Independence Missouri? Live there now? How familiar are you with the region? it's early. I post stuff on CO D-1 especially on the Coffman 2018 site [Change it to 2019 usually in July} .

My guesses for 2019, first to last, would be:

Ohio
Pick Central, R-Burg, Pick North, Lancaster, Gahanna, Grove City

Capital
New Albany, Canal, Groveport, Big Walnut, Franklin Heights, Newark

Central
Coffman, Davidson, UA, Central Crossing, Marysville, Westland

Cardinal
Bradley, Darby, Jerome, Scioto, Hayes, Thomas Worthington, Kilbourne

Buckeye
Liberty, WC, Olentangy, Orange, WS, WN

**based on limited knowledge, I had to look up OCC to see division names and all teams!**

Looks pretty good at first glance

Ohio

I swap R-Burg and Pick North . Burg loses key pieces isn't t as good consistently , North looking for a bounce back and has QB coming' Home" from Washington Court house who was on loan last year as a Soph. Lawrence at RB Sawyer at TE or anywhere you want top put him , and Scott at WR give them the pieces that will be very productive on offense .

Cardinal -

Scioto Jerome should be competitive , Bradley has risen , usually has the size and strength advantage ion this conference. This is their last year here so they probably get that last league title . Darby is pretty consistent year in and year out. Ye Olde Tommy W has some athletes and is much mre competitive lately but still a bit behind . Be interesting to see what Hayes does the next few years as the new coach gets his program in place.

Buckeye

Westy C will challenge Liberty , they have some really nice athletes { Williamson , Hyatt } and an interesting Jr. to be QB Holtzclaw to get the kids the ball . Liberty loses 34 Seniors , has some good players back and has really gotten to be a excellent play-off team even if they stumble at times during the regular season . BIG offensive lines lately who are well coached.

Central

Coffman has the most back but will be breaking in a new QB { Program's 4th straight first year Yr. starter so used to it lately } but Mathews is a good prospect. Athletic , tough and a nice arm . Moves well , is athletic enough to throw well on the run , good runner . Rebuild on the O-line is KEY . plenty of playmaking skill on offense and defense . UA one ahead of Davidson ? Davidson will have a new offense , one returning starter up front and a whole new backfield will be a challenge and they will struggle to score against good teams . Nixon is a good Soph prospect at RB . UA has a nice backfield a few big kids up front and a few defenders back . Need to break through vs Davidson. Having a former Davidson assistant at the helm could help .
