I didn't see them as often as you probably did but Darius Ashley was more of an impact player for St. X than Kyle Rudolph was for Elder IMHO.

Just for clarification, are we going by a whole body of work throughout a high school, college, and/or pro career? Or are we just sticking to high school?

I'll be the first to say it.....The Francisco brothers lived in Texas and only flew in for games, so they don't count and can't be listed!!!!

Top 50 of all time. List your top 10 of all time in order.

Yes what they did after High School and even after college plays into it. Obviously if they went on to the pros they were a better high school player than someone that did not go on to the pros.

Not necessarily. In his career at Warren G. Harding, Antwan Molden only had 15 catches for 230 yards & 2 TDs. Defensively, he never intercepted a pass. After starting out at Toledo, he transferred to Eastern Kentucky & had a solid career. He showed up at the 2008 NFL Combine as the strongest cornerback there and went on to get drafted in the 3rd round by the Houston Texans. He was on the Patriots' roster when they lost to the NY Giants in Sup[er Bowl XLVI. Ironically, his high school teammate, Mario Manningham, will always be remembered for making "The Catch."

Nothing to do with SWO and I know that this situation is extremely rare, but sometimes, the players who were the best in high school aren't the ones who make it. Being from Warren, I know that all too well, and not for the most positive reasons.

If that's the case, then you'd definitely have to look at somebody like Greg Scruggs, who only played 1 year, winning a state championship, and is now in the NFL.

I may have missed it, but STEVE SOLLMANN from St. X! Probably my favorite HS player ever and that's coming from an Elder guy. Also Fred Craig from St. X '08..You could argue that the entire 2007 St. X team should be on this list.

I am shocked to not see Steve Niehaus name. All-american at Moeller and Notre Dame, then on to Seattle.

Steve Niehaus was a defensive lineman in the NFL. He was the first ever draft pick for the Seattle Seahawks and the second player taken in the 1976 NFL Draft.

jtk has a little shameless behaviour in the past
all he said was he was his favorite. steve was a better player between the tackles. obviously, scott was a much faster player than steve. they both did what they had to do to make st. x football better.

Yeah, Scott Sollmann was before my time. Always heard he was awesome, too. However, I went to probably every St. X game Steve Sollmann played in as a kid and he was fun to watch. Also, I would like to change my previous post about St. X's whole 2007 team..I really just mean the whole defense. The offense was okay, but the D made that team. They were incredible.
