Falls baseball looking to reload and roll

For Cuyahoga Falls baseball coach Jim Farrell, it seems he's always facing an uphill battle.

Last year, Falls had a 10-member senior class to lead it and plenty of offensive firepower.

However, Falls finished the season at 15-11, 4-6 in the always rigorous Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division.

Thus, as Farrell opens his ninth year as Falls head coach, is he looking at a rebuilding year?

Not so fast, the veteran coach says, as he notes Falls has eight lettermen back this year.

"We've got a lot of kids that don't have a lot of varsity experience, but we actually do have a good senior class this season," Farrell said. "Up the middle, we actually have a lot of guys returning, which is a good thing. What we're missing is our depth on the mound and we're missing our three big sticks from last year.

"I like this group of kids," Farrell added. "Some people think we're in for a rebuilding year, but we're going to go out there and try to win every game we play."
