Arrow what matters more: sleep night before game or pregame meal?

I think sleep is more important since I want my guys hungry for victory

I say sleep. Most guys who are playing have no stomach for food prior to a game.

Nutrition. The night before the night before is actually most important. The body can't operate properly without the proper nutrition.

Food, sleep not even close second.

My son practices with special forces every summer and they go 72 hours or more with no sleep, but they have to eat or muscle cramps, mental exhaustion etc set in. A bunch of adrenaline with food for energy can cover up lost sleep.

I think part of the rationale behind sleep deprivation training is there’s a good chance you won’t be able to sleep in combat situations whereas there is a better chance you’ll have a minute here or there to scarf down food rations for energy

Found an interesting interview with Navy Seals says after 72 hours they start hallucinating (but they keep going)

That was a very interesting article. As I was reading it I thought it may also depend on a person's natural inclination. I generally go to sleep at midnight and am up around 2:30 -3:00. Few people naturally do that , and it is not healthy in general. For those who are used to getting 9 hours of sleep per night they would likely function more poorly than someone who is accustomed to little sleep.?

Food.
Sleep always effects your body the second day more so because of the metobilic conversion of energy. So getting a good nights rest two nights prior is actually more important than getting sleep the night before.

Egret has a little shameless behaviour in the past
3. Other. Other includes a 4.3 40 back, a 6'2" QB with a cannon, and a couple of 300 pound linemen.

LOL. Well done as usual.

My old man liked to say when you're young you can do anything. And now I know why.

Both or neither depending on what you do throughout the week. Proper rest and nutrition should be happening all week long and through the course of the season. One night won't make a difference if players aren't taking care of themselves throughout the season.
