Yes I have, but you haven't been paying attention if you think Bengals fans are going to just keep forking over money no matter what. There's historical evidence of this and this season is also an example.

Yeah, I have been paying attention for more years than I care to think about. That's how I recognize pboys statement is an example of hyperbole.

To be honest I don't think keeping Lewis is the end of the world, in fact I think he has a better chance of righting the ship than anyone else the Bengals could have hired.

It's almost like Bengal fans forget what they were before Marvin.

Sure he hasn't won a playoff game (thanks Burfict and Pacman) but as a Browns fan I wish we had 7 playoff appearances over the last 15 seasons.

I can see your position if you are the old Browns dumping Marty (Art should have merely taken draft day clout away from him), but Marvin is no Marty.

First of all, I'm not a Bengals fan, but it's amazing the craziness that is going on with some Bengals fans. So many are under the impression that a new coach means immediate success? Like a few posts before, my first question always is can you even get a better coach? I mean Lewis has overall done a decent job.

I think the metric that many have is unrealistic. Many think that it's super bowl or bust every single season. That's a system set up for failure.

How about ANY postseason success after 15 seasons?

Is Mike Brown trying to kill off the fan base so that he can move the team to a bigger city in 4 years when the lease is up??

Was there any success from 1990 to 2003 when Marvin came in? Didn't the franchise average 3-4 wins? The Bengals were the Browns before Marvin became the HC. You'd like for them to take the next step, but when a new coach comes in that may start a rebuild as the new guy will have his own playbook and philosophy.

I don't like the move personally, but the Bengals could do MUCH worse than Marvin.

Will Mike Brown still be kicking in 4 years to move the team? If this is the case, where would he try to move them? Saint Louis? Oakland?

To be fair he may have built the ship but he didn't get much say in the materials he used to build it. How has changing coaches every two years worked out for the Browns? There aren't a lot of quality head coaches out there (Browns fans should know that better than anyone ) and the few there are probably wouldn't want to work for the Brown family.

WinstonSmith has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I don't see them moving the team as a real possibility. With all the talk of how Mike Brown hates change, why would he be ok with that kind of change?

Mike Brown tired of the Browns getting all the attention for their futility so he had to do something to get some headlines. Marvin 2nd longest tenured coach in NFL next to Bill B in NE. Worst playoff record in history at 0-7. Not sure that changes anytime soon.

From Lance last night: 39 coaches have won 1 playoff games since Marvin started 15 years ago. Chance for 4 more this weekend.

I see some middle ground between 2 years and 15, myself......

Why would Marvin stay at this point if he was merely a victim of Mike Brown ? It would make little sense.

A Madden-esque fear of flying ? He's a well-spoken man that could make an easier living as a national analyst or commentator if he doubled his travel.

It’s pretty obvious Marvin and Brown are friends, who value stability and control. I don’t think either are victims of the other, merely co-conspirators. I think both want to win, but it appears neither are destined to transcend that path to greatness.

No one is enjoying it, but it’s far better than what Cleveland has going on.

Yeah not really a Bengals fan but I would take 7-9 8-8 over 1-31.

Not sure how you can spin that into a positive but go for it.

You guys sound like the disheveled drunk stumbling out of the bar and falling on his hands and knees, getting up, and pointing at the guy passed out in the alley with barf on his shirt saying, "Well, at least I'm not as bad as that guy!".

Stop deflecting. No one advocated that the Bengals repeat what the Browns have done.

That said, after having let the O-line and receivers walk away, you guys might need to tank a bit.

I'd draft O-line this year and consider trading Green and Dunlap for serviceable cheap young replacements with potential and high picks next year. Those of you that wanted to blow it up last year after letting so much get away were right. You wasted a year.

Lol. Yeah, I think we’ll stay away from the Browns model of franchise building, but thanks!
