You guys need to go look at the base enrollment, not the CB. Then decide. There are 2 D5 schools already in the EOAC. Time for another.

The EBC (NBC) has outgrown Minerva...they’d be a nice addition!

So would EL if you want to go that route. They're almost D5.

You guys are nuts if you think Leetonia, Lisbon, or Wellsville will play Salem, Minerva, or E. Liverpool. It will never happen

And to be fair Salem is in a much better league and has better options besides this league anyways.

East Liverpool 226 which is the 31st smallest in D4, not really that close to D5
Minerva 234 53rd smallest in D4
Salem 237 46th smallest in D4
East Palestine 160
United 154
Columbiana 126
Southern 117
Wellsville 97
Lisbon 95
Leetonia 82
Thats a pretty large numbers discrepancy

The difference between Salem/Minerva/EL and EP is about the same as the difference from EP to leetonia. For 4 of the EOAC schools Salem/Minerva/EL would be twice as big if not more.

You're correct, but the ability to compete is different. United and EP already play two of those.

United and EP are 2 out of 7, and even at that playing someone out of league is a lot different than welcoming them into your league. The ability to compete was far from the driving force when these leagues were created just 2 years ago, or they wouldn't look like they do

Agree, but competing is on the table now with the smaller schools.

United will be very comparable to the rest of the league this year. EP will be very comparable to the rest of the league next year. When those two and Columbiana are UP, they will be hard to compete with, when they are not UP they will be middle of the pack. Columbiana is the only team that has consistently been UP in my opinion.

Columbiana and EP return a bunch, those two should be in the thick of it again. I'm pretty sure United loses a lot from last year's team. Same with Lisbon. Those 4 finished in the top 4 last year, and I can see that remaining the same. EP, Col, Lisbon, United would be my guess as order of finish in 2018. Those 4 could compete with either Minerva or EL. Not sure the other 3 would have a chance though....

You underrate you team, Bop. Lisbon has tradition as a football town. Relax.

I appreciate the sentiments Bulldog. Do not get me wrong, we are fine here in Lisbon. The issue is we continue to get smaller and I doubt that is going to change. We will hold our own against teams in this league.

I would talk to Edison as well, they are D5 and already play Southern & Wellsville, and are by no means a powerhouse.

Might as well drive to Toronto......Just saying. Northern teams have the long travel, Southern and Wellsville don't.

Just threw out a D5 that the little guys already play since that is always the issue, plus the northern teams are going to have to decide what is best.. playing schools who can field teams or playing schools 5 minutes away.

As I said before, Leetonia was close last year to not fielding and I bet Hulea will have a task getting that program back on stable legs.
Remember, football is always the driving factor whether a league survives or croaks. Everyone can mostly compete in the other sports to an extent.

Exact reason why I would push for Edison, D5 who already plays 2 smaller schools in the existing league. Also a team who will not beat the doors down on anyone.. FYI they lost to Wellsville (D7) last season. It's kind of the best of both world's.

Be hard pressed to get them to leave the Buckeye 8. Easy travel, geographic rivalries, and smaller competition. They would struggle to compete in the top half of the EOAC in football.

I doubt Edison would come. They are firmly entrenched in the Buckeye 8 I think it is called with same sized schools they have played for years. That place is out in the sticks.

They are in Buckeye 8 North with EL D4, Beaver D4, Indian Creek D3, And Buckeye Local D5. Smallest school in that setup I believe.

Seriously, they lost to two EOAC bottom D7 teams. They'll stay put.

They probably will, but that is what strengthens the argument to leave where they are as well, They cannot compete where they are, why not look elsewhere. This may be the only "larger" school which may fit. FYI they had 177 boys at last count D5. Just my opinion but if I was EP and United I would be beating the drum for someone like this to join because the alternative of another D7 is far worse.

Lets just bring in D5 Buckeye Local, then. When they play Leetonia, someone will finally get their first win in years!

The gate would be worse than Toronto.
Go for the small D4 to the west.
