that make too much sense and would be too easy to get done.

that means it will never happen. if it had one more football school it would be perfect.

Either Alliance or Marlington would be fine. I actually lean towards Alliance.

Both may be a available before too long. The ebc is fractured in two or three directions. Don't see it viable for long.

Dover
08/23 H Cleveland John F. Kennedy (dogsnot game)
08/31 A Uniontown Lake (awesome game)
09/07 H Wooster (good game)
09/14 H Akron East (good game)
09/21 H Tallmadge (good game)
09/28 A Steubenville (awesome game)
10/05 H Cambridge (good game)
10/12 H Zanesville (ok game)
10/19 A Marietta (dogsnot game)
10/26 A New Philadelphia (best game)

I'm really liking Dover's schedule, a few reaches and only 2 gimmes, if we can make the tournament we'll be battle tested)

New Philadelphia
08/24 H Cincinnati Turpin (who? D2 4-6, much like Cle JFK, dogsnot)
08/31 A Ravenna (good game)
09/07 A Canal Fulton Northwest (ok game)
09/14 A Columbus St. Charles (1-9 dogsnot game)
09/21 H Canton Central Catholic (awesome game)
09/28 A Cambridge (good game)
10/05 H Steubenville (awesome game)
10/12 H Marietta (dogsnot game)
10/19 A Zanesville (ok game)
10/26 H Dover (best game)

I'm liking NP's schedule too, enough points to make the tournament, and enough likely tournament teams on the schedule to be worth something if you make it to week 11.

Never thought I'd see the day Dover was in a higher division than New Phila. The times they are a changin.

I know, considering Dover has about 4,600 less residents than Phila.

Regarding the Steubenville - Phila game: it was only awesome if you enjoyed watching BR blow NP away 41-3.

If enough ECOL teams found new homes that the ECOL ceased to exist, but RiverView found itself without a league, do you think the Ohio Cardinal Conference would take RV? Sure win in most sports but gives the scheduling of an 8 team league. Obviously RV might prefer being independent instead of being in the OCC.

Turpin's record the last 12 years

2017- 4-6
2016- 11-1
2015- 10-2
2014- 4-6
2013- 4-6
2012- 12-1
2011- 8-4
2010- 9-2
2009- 11-1
2008- 9-2
2007- 12-1
2006- 12-2
2005- 7-3

I would say that they're million times better than Cleveland JFK and can argue that they are better than both Philly and Dover.

Cincinnati Turpin was 4-6 last year but in 2016 they went 10-0 lost to Lasalle in the second round. 2015 went 9-1 and lost to Kings in the second round. You might want to upgrade this game to at least good game. Not quite sure if they will be any good but it looks like they are an above average Cincy school that plays a decent schedule. I agree with the rest of the game notes though.

Sorry guys never heard of them and only looked at their last year's schedule and it wasn't any good. I stand corrected. But IMO those urban publics are always really fast but not that deep and are beatable.

A 4-6 Turpin team would still give NP everything they could handle. If it's a playoff level team, NP is going to get dogwalked.

Sure they would... Just like they gave that 1-9 team in week 10 all they could handle last year, winning by 3.

With Dover moving up to D2, will 7-3 or 8-2 get them in the playoffs?

That D2 region is pretty bad. They should do well in it. No Desales or Bishop Hartley

NP is going to have their hands more than full with Turpin. Feel free to head to the bank and fill out a deposit slip.

Dover & New Philly

I did hear a rumor that Col. St. Charles is being replaced by Ashland in week 4 of the NP schedule this year. Can neither confirm nor deny it though.

Good pick up since St Chucks offer no playoff points

If the southern most team bolts for a southern conference, the OCC would be crazy not to add Dover-NP for 8 teams. WH and Lex would have to pull their big boy pants up!

That's what I was thinking. And the Quakers wouldn't have to play on a baseball field that doubles as a football stadium. I hope it's true and a multi year deal is involved. Going to be spending some time in Ashland over the next several years so this would be a bonus...and a step toward OCC affiliation.

I checked Dover point totals for the past 8 or 9 years and Dover would have finished higher in either of the 2 regions they will likely be in for several of those seasons. Getting in will be about equally difficult, advancing, at least beyond 1or 2 games will be more difficult. Dover is 2 boys into D2, they could slide back to D3 very easily.

Dover has had good series with Ashland, and Wooster, and WH. NP just finished a series with WH and if NP picks up Ashland- It may make sense for an ECOL-CC cross over series since the CC is having to schedule non league games in the latter half of the season and the ECOL is trying to stave off dissolution.

As for River View and Coshocton, I don't know where they can go if the IVC doesn't want them. They're both on the small side for the OCC, and I can understand the MVL not viewing them as attractive additions.
I have heard locally the Lions are interested. I support the decision and like the league. See what happens.

Turpin is a very good and consistent program. Might have bit off more than you can chew for an opener. Saving grace is they will be dealing with a 4 hour bus ride, potentially on school busses.

I don't believe NP was expecting Turpin to be a patsy when they were put on the schedule. A home game, regardless of the opponent, is always a plus. You guys know about that.

If you say so. My point had nothing to do with what you think I was insinuating though. I'll leave it at that.
