I subscribed to it. It was put out by a guy named Kurt Francis who did it for two years, I believe. I still have some issues lying around.

Kapprel went 49.35 at the 1995 regional and 49.81 at 1994 regional. At state in 1995 he went 49.70. He didn't score at state in 1994.

Yes, you are correct. Rimmer won state with his 15'1" in 1966 which stood as the city record until the Forest Hills school district chums came along to beat it some thirty years later. Rimmer came to Mt. Healthy from California where vaulters had been using fiberglass polls from a long time. They were new to Ohio athletes at the time he won state. That doens't take nothing away from a city record that stood for thrirty years but he had the jump on Ohio vaulter when he came in here.

Now the question is, do we go with nine in the pole vault and take out all the 15' vaulters who are tied or do we go with about 15 deep on that list and iclude all those tied at 15'0"? I'm in favor of the latter. Cincinnati has a rich pole vault history. It is a mecca for vaulters due to guys like Andy Wolf, Toby Dirr, Rick Christoph and others.

An interesting side note about the pole vault. The OHSAA was going to eliminate the pole vault as an event because of the dangers of injury until Andy Wolf put together a training video and sent it to the state to distribute to coaches who wanted it done away with. Andy Wolf should be recoginzed for saving the pole vault.

keep the list for vaulters, maybe we should come up with a minimum time to make the list instead of a top ten. heck in some events like vault and distance really good guys wont even make the list

skins99 can vouch for Don Connolly. He published a high school track and field newsletter called Our Times from 1971-1982. In 1980 he shows Eric Blaine running a 48.7 at regional. That was his fastest time up to that date and even after the state meet. The time was converted to a metric time. While the state went to meters in 1980, the regional at Welcome was still run in yards because the track was not yet converted to meters. That means that Blaine ran a 49.0 in the 440 yard dash. He makes the list with a time of 48.94.

I trust Don Connolly's lists absolutely becase I know the guy. He is now the road running meet director guru in Cincinnati. Back then he was teaching math at Indian Hill.

He ran 49.0 in the 440 dash at regionals, right? That was better than his district time and better than his state meet time. Could he have run that at the Ohio Track and Field Classic meet the week after the state meet where they got the best guys in all three classes together in a shootout. I sent an email to Jim Barre, AD at Wyoming asking him about it.

I got this reply from Jim Barre, AD at Wyoming about Eric Blaine:

Eric does hold three Wyoming Track Records. All set in 1981.
100 meters-10.7
200 meters-22.1
400 meters 47.9

Hey guys I still need a little bit of help with the meets that the guys did their marks for the pole vault. I got the majority of them. And by the way Lancer we are fine with the number because with the added guys the list still holds 10 spots and ties. The edited list is on page 3.

I think this might be the deepest honor roll in all of Cincinnati. I bet we could be close to 25 deep and still be under 8. It's a shame all those Princeton times knocked my 4x8 out of the top 10

Again I need times for this list, preferably the GMC teams like Princeton, because I believe they held the city record before X.
anderson ran i think a 7:56.8 to win state way back in time for the 3200 relay. jeff hamilton (god i hope i have his name right) owns the anderson record for high jump at 6'8"
