Trump's positions would've actually made for a pretty solid 1964-76 Democrat.

You used to be a more cerebral troll, turpin. Sobriety seems to have lowered your troll game to the depths of mund-ness.

There seems to be some new moderation afoot in these forums......

Definitely different parameters, and they seem to favor the more subtle knuckleheads among us

Wasn't trolling. I just am looking at it from the perspective of how people can change their viewpoints. Especially in something as entrenched as political views are. I don't think I am capable of change like that.

right

My viewpoints really haven't changed much at all in the last 25 years.

Voting for POTUS after the primary really isn't like ordering a pizza, where you can pick and choose platform planks like toppings . There are usually only 2 viable candidate choices.

I find it interesting because I think that means you are open to opposing ideas and change. None of the debate board is like most people and their political beliefs.

You really weren't around here when Ted initially gave me the business about my Obama votes, were you ? I've gone over it pretty thoroughly. Not doing it again now.

Obama & Hillary had essentially the exact same platform. Makes zero sense. But that's what happens when you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything.

At least you got 1 out of the last 3 right though.

You are a prime example of that^.

Your personal emphasis on the financial sector, the only thing that you half stand for, would have given a Republican legislature to a carnivore capitalist and globalist that would have further decimated our blue collar sector. Romney was effectively for open borders in that he would have been weak and ineffectual. His ideas on "self-deportation" with little action would have been toothless, but they would probably keep your HA fees down.

3 questions

1.) What policies of Obama did you prefer over Romney?

2.) How is Trump governing the financial sector different than you presume Romney would have?

3.) Are you more embarrassed by your Obama vote in 2008 or 2012?

Correct. I voted for gridlock. I never anticipated the level of fiat legislation via Presidential Memorandums and EOs - especially the social stuff. I never imagined a President could be such an immense COWARD when seditionists were shooting cops and blatantly inciting riots. POTUSes usually show their true colors in their second term, but not like that.

A white male Dem acting as Obummer did with a Pub Senate would have faced impeachment proceedings. Not the Magic Negro. No politician would take the chance getting tagged with the Scarlet Letter, "R".

Every decision that man made and every speech after early 2014 were all geared toward being The Most Important Black Man in the World in POTUS retirement. In his second term, he was something to be endured, like a long winter.

For entirely different reasons. He hasn't had any problem "vetoing" Obummer's fiat legislation, but he can do that without "the swamp".

It is kind of an eye-opener how wishy-washy the Pubs in the House and Senate have been, but not totally surprising.

Reps and Sens from "old" states like Ohio should not be a surprise resisting things like rolling back Obamacare when it increases the state's liability. Likewise, any other Trump change that takes back Federal money

There was absolutely nothing about Obama's 2nd term that wasn't completely predictable from his first. Which is why so many felt it was a must-win election. Unfortunately it took a lot of morons more than 4 years to realize the hope & change gimmick was nothing more than that.

2) It's not about the governance of the financial sector. Self-serving turds like you only care about activity in the financial sector - money flying around that you might get a taste of, without caring what is being destroyed.

Never in a million years would Romney have said "America First", or threatened to tax companies exporting jobs. He would have been all-in with globalization, open borders, or anything else to make the bottom four quintiles here all underbid each other in every aspect of American life. I hope the New World Order GHWBush dreamed of is dead.

Did you notice how much more threatened Romney was by a Trump candidacy than by the Hildabeast ? I'm almost surprised he didn't endorse her. I bet he voted for her.

After Trump's first 180 days, Barry's social legacy is all but neutered. Romney would be in his second term of killing the middle class. Now he's all but politically dead.

Mission: Accomplished.

Trump's policies will grow "the pie" for all Americans. Romney would have made "the pie" of America smaller, but the slice for the top 20% of us larger. Relative wealth. Screw that carnivore.

So you can't name anything you liked about Obama's platform over Romney's, yet you voted for him.

Like I said, stand for nothing, fall for anything.

Who did you vote for in 04? Curious how far back your terrible decisions run prior to righting the ship in 2016?
