Week 2: Winton Woods (1-0) @ West Clermont (1-0)

Excited about seeing the new West Clermont campus/stadium. Going off the week 1 reports it's a challenging place to play. They are expecting another large crowd. I was always leery playing at Glen Este. The stadium was dark and the officials were always a factor. If those same players that didn't have on shoulder pads last week, don't have them on this week, the Warriors could be in trouble. And the officials will interject themselves in this game, so be ready.

Hearing there might be a chance the game gets moved to the old Glen Este campus. Anyone else hearing this rumor?

As I stated a few days ago, dealing with the home town refs will be challenging, they have really made it more difficult than it should, therefore , its crucial that we get off to a fast
Start. This way you take refs out the game.

And we must control our temper and play within ourselves, because we will be flagged quickly and often, I'm going off the last several years we've played at that muddy field and it always rain when we played them.

Need our QB to be smart with the ball
Maintain our composure
Play smart discipline football
Watch personal foul penalties
No talking smack, make the play and get back in huddle
We should be fine

No more excuses
Go Warriors

I don't think this will be a cakewalk but we should win this by at least two scores.

Excited about visiting the new school and stadium! West Clermont will have momentum after the come from behind victory week 1. WW has to start fast and don't get behind. If not it could be a long tough night. As always, the refs will play a factor in the game. WW has to play through that and any old remnants of Glen Este past. WW must also keep the turnovers to a minimum.

no whiney here, just facts, when you see most of ww posters commenting on this, its because we know what is about to happen, every year we go there the refs make sure to keep the game close, no blowouts, the basically cheat with the phantom flags, anything else they can do to keep the game close. every year, every year.

they try to do what the refs at the elder game did last year with the first down issue, have you seen the video on youtube? look it up, disgraceful and then comment if you like. better yet why don't you use your pull and talk with your coach and ad and schedule a game with ww.

this happens every year, and the Ohsaa refs association that hedules these refs should be ashamed and its a disgrace when you have duke, billy bob, and john boy refs doing this to these young men instead of letting the game be played out on the filed.

but the refs probably eat at the local diner and know the coaches and players and their families, etc.

heck, for all I know you could be one of the refs assigned to the game. so the bottom line is let the game be decided on the field and let these young men on both sides play a good clean hard game.

and if they should come out on top with a fair game, ill be the first one on here saying good game west Clermont.

Huh? When did I blame the refs? I, and others have stated that the refs will be a factor! Never have I blamed the refs for a loss. But at Glen Este the refs ALWAYS WERE A FACTOR! Games over there have traditionally been close, with the refs being a factor *not the only factor) in the outcome of the game. Compared to the WW/GE at WW games, WW have dominated!

Wow the racism from the whiny woods fans here is pretty sad. The refs are assigned by the ohsaa, it's not like the AD calls up 5 of his buddies and asks them to come ref the game.

The refs could always be a factor because WW traditionally commits numerous penalties. At least in my experience watching them.

As stated the crews are assigned by the OHSAA. It not like every school I. Ohio is assigned a crew but West Clermont can pick there own "hometown" crew. Ridiculous assumptions by WW fans. Play clean football you'll see less flags.

Racism. lol.
Where did you read that in here?
Can't even read Yappi these days without fake claims of racism.

I'm a WW fan.

The referees are part of the game.
Some stink and some are great.
They are not perfect....just like the coaches and players.

The Warriors are going to get a lot of penalties this season.
Most of them will be earned.
The rest can be overcome.
Ignore the ref's and enjoy the games.

Take care of business, kick azz, and don't let the game come down to one or two plays where there may be a penalty call.
This is what the most successful coaches and programs teach.
They certainly don't complain about referees to the players.

I agree with the guy that says no excuses on here.

No I don't.

You brought it up.

When I read it, I took the use of "duke, billy bob, and john boy refs "as Town vs Country".
Glen Este, Amelia and now merged as West Clermont have always been viewed by Hamilton County people as country folks or "small town".
Hence the comment about sitting at the diner together.

That may be. I've just heard ww fans in the past blame race for the officiating out here.

Winton Woods likes to make excuses. Facts are every year they underachieve. Could they be getting cheated every year? Every time a penalty is called? Every time they get a personal foul? Every time they dont show discipline? They excuse making is a big reason why a team with more talent than anyone in the city cant achieve more on field success.

I think that WW will score a good amount of points.

It will be more of a matter if the defense can get off the field and/or that they limit self inflicted wounds.

WC had a lot of momentum and emotion playing their first game as a program last Friday. Will that carry over into this week? They certainly will have a lot of confidence leading up to kickoff.

Hopefully the WW players go in with a healthy respect for WC after seeing what they were able to do in week 1.

I say Winton Woods 35-21.

IMO, race doesn't have anything to do with it. Nowadays refs want to make themselves part of the show. It happens in every sport, on every level. The best way to be a major part of the show is to keep the game close. To call back a 70 yard punt return TD. It about being part of the game, not race. Wouldn't matter if it is Winton Woods or Elder at West Clermont on Friday.

Here's the Warriors theme:
Any excuse, no matter how legit, weakens your character.

Now back to football. WW by 16.

Comes down to the WW athletes and whether or not West Clermont can out scheme them or not. WC for sure doesn't have the athletes to hang with WW, but they could out scheme them. I think the WW O-Line is a mess, but they have two studs who can make plays in the backfield. Williams has a bright future.

The WW oline is not as bad as I had anticipated and getting better everyday. I want to predict a score but it's hard because I have no clue who still out for the Warriors and of course bad weather. I'm going to assume that we will have Navar Gannaway back.

Actually the referees are assigned by a local gentleman who also assigns games for the CHL. He is a bit of a good ol boy.

Exactly, that's my point, I was only talking about this particular school/area that WW has had the refs play a larger role than they should . But a lot of you didn't really read my post, you all just glanced and picked out things you wanted to see and discuss.

As one poster stated, yes WW will get personal fouls called and more than likely it'll be deserved in knowing that they need to play smart football and make sure especially with our history in that area with the refs we need to make sure it's 11 vs. 11 and not playing against the refs also.

Just play good clean game by both teams and see what happens .

So this is my last comment until Friday game day. And yes my motto this year is simple NO MORE EXCUSES !!!

So yes I will take my own advice and say it once more

NO MORE EXCUSES PERIOD
GO WARRIORS
