I hope Tensing, Kurz, Kraemer and Jung get a late offer from this years squad...all are deserving...I'd take a serious look at these guys if I was a recruiter. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

I don't see Tensing getting a scholarship after this season. I sure wouldnt offer one even from a small D1 school. As an X fan, obviously I hope he does well in his future and gets a shot, but from a sports guy, if I was a coach I wouldn't offer him anything. Obviously a good kid with his head on straight from from a strict football standpoint, he regressed.

Kurz and Jung I would look at depending on grades and the size of the school Im at.

Removed Frey from commitment list.
He and Tensing may be the final scholarships and both may go to Ivy League schools
Since 1999, StX has sent 31 players to the Ivy league (21) and Patriot Leagues (10).
Frey and Tensing would make 33 players in the past 15 years.
The 4 scholarships for this senior class would be the fewest since 2006.

Ivy League (21)
Harvard (3): Sean Ahern (11), Dave Miller (02), Brad Griewe (00)
Yale (4): Robbie Ries (12), Nick Schneider (07), Marty Mooney (01), Mike Hurley (01)
Columbia (5): Cameron Dunn (12), Ian Cummins (08), Evan Miller (07), Ross Morand (07), Drew Quinn (04)
Princeton (3): Jack Woodall (10), Andrew Hauser (05), Tom Hurley (04)
Dartmouth (1): Sam McDonald (02)
Cornell (3): Connor Buczek (10), John Scheidler (07), Frank Morand (05)
Penn (2): John Hurley (07), Evan Nolan (00)

Patriot League (10)
Holy Cross (4): Ryan Schnieber (10), Dave Herman (08), Dom Randolph (04), Nick Larsen (99)
Lafayette (1): Ben Carroll (12)
Lehigh (2): Joe Barrett (12), Nigel Muhammad (09)
Georgetown (3): Will Carroll (09), Tim Bayer (07), Gerry Reilly (07)

You can't coach 6'5' and speed via his long deer like strides. I continue to believe that he will thrive in the right fit. He'll be fine.

At the year end banquet.
They update it each year and recognize record setting players.
If you know a parent of a player they received a copy.

Perspective: From Mark Porter of ScoutingOhio.com:

Graded 77 QB's in the Class of 2015, about a dozen of them have a chance to be D1..and that number is stretching it. 3 offered so far.

Graded 151 LB's in the Ohio Class of 2015. 42 of them have a chance to be D1, 10 of them are big time D1!

Graded 97 RB's in the Class of 2015, Less than 20 have a chance to be D1, 8 have offers so far... Pretty deep group this year.

Graded 93 WRs in the Class of 2015, about 15 of them have a chance to be D1. Only 3 have a D1 offer right now.

Most D1 prospect in the Class of 2014 with no offers right now only have themselves to blame. Bad Grades or didn't get to summer camps.

The School Closings in Ohio is really hurting football recruiting. Lots of coaches stranded in Ohio with no place to go! Kids missing out!

Business Plan for Combine.. Find 100 desperate parents/prospects and charge them $50 each to run 40yd dash. Make $5000 in 3 hours. #SCAM

Congrats to the kid but there's no such thing as an "offer" to John Carroll. It's D3, they have 0 athletic dollars to give. I'm sure he got some academic money/financial aide.

True, he got financial aid. Its an offer to play football; not everyone gets that.

Well there are alot of small schools who will take about any body just to get their numbers up. (That's how small schools make money off of football, by attracting students who would normally never come there and pay tuition). I remember my senior yr, Ashland signed literally like 65 kids. They only have 36 scholarships to split amoung the entire team. Safe to say the vast majority of those kids were walk ons and Ashland runs about 35k a year.

I saw the d2 level up close in the now no longer existing WVIAC (not a strong d2 conference ) but there were some god awful guys on my team. It was bad, alot of kids wouldn't crack the starting line up on a decent high school team.

My point is when you say "offer" it is miss leading because to most people this implies a scholarship offer. That's why they are such a big deal. An offer to be on the team is quite different. A more accurate term would be "financial package" as d3 coaches would say. But tamato, tomato.

But in all seriousness congrats to the kid. JCU is a very good school. A degree from there is very valuable. They also have a really nice stadium/locker room/ weight room. (I used to have nightmares about JCU, my sophomore year Crable shipped us up there for camp. It was my first real football camp, was getting beat up on scout team and they had no AC in the dorms. 3 a days as well.) Enough of my rambling, good luck to the future blue streak! Stay healthy.Go to class, but I'm sure an X grad dosen't need to be told that

I'm not trolling. These are my honest thoughts about recruiting and JCU. I'm a Moe guy. I just like to see what's going on around the league. I just think it's funny when ppl try to say they received an "offer" to a place where you can't get one.

And I'm sorry but that is the reality of small college football. It's not as glorified as you think. Playing in front of a thousand (if that) people is a pretty big bummer especially for a kid who's used to playing in the GCL. And look it up, 2008 Ashland did sign that many kids.

I had alot of experience with small school recruiting and just figured id share my two cents and experience. Then I gave props to the kid and the school and just talked about my experience at JCU. No disrespect intended.
