JAVMAN83, a.k.a. Mr. Relentless, I have sent these true records to the meet managers at each site: Scott Stemple at Mason, Mark Gerstner at Winton Woods, and Doug Foote at New Richmond. I have also included Mike Chatfield at finishtiming since he is the one who updates Mason DI. Mark Gerstner at ghgtiming should be updating the other records at Winton Woods and New Richmond. Frank Russo, president of SWOTCCCA, was also included.

Most excellent. Hope the weather (ugh, this season's weather!) stays good and many PRs, school records, and meet records are set. Would be nice to see some of the old MT records go, too

To infinity and beyond!

I did notice that there were two sections in the DII boys but not the DII girls last year. As for this year, there are 21 boys schools listed for DII New Richmond but only 19 girls schools. Any one from DII know if they are running two sections in DII boys this year?

I'm guessing no.
http://swdab.org/Track/2018%20D2%20BTF%20Teams.pdf

12 regional qualifiers from three sites according to that.

Altor, you are correct! i sent an email to the DII district manager at New Richmond, and here is his response,

"We lost a qualifier so that made D2 one section now"

Thanks for tracking down the info. Does make it simpler, but much more challenging out of New Richmond for the D2 boys.

Question:

I noticed there were no wind-readings for the Division II long jumps out at New Richmond? They were there, finally, for the last 3 years (2015-2017), but nothing from yesterday? Does anyone no if they had one out there? Or was it not working or the readings have not been loaded into the database yet? It would be sad if no wind gauge was available. That's a step backward if that's the case.

GHG Timing is doing this meet. There was a wind gauge there as they used it in the 110h, 100m, and 200m

I figured that, but usually there are two at a meet. One for the sprints/hurdles, and one for the long jump/triple jump (if Ohio ever decides that!). They used a wind gauge for 2015-2017 in the long jumps, but I'm wondering what the issue was for this year.

The same timing company did Winton Woods and they had a wind gauge at the boys long jump

Kings girls destroyed the 4x800 meet record at Mason.

On a side note... Sad to see Withrow's girls fall off the map. Looks like they have one good athlete that runs hurdles and high jumps. They didn't even enter any individuals in the sprints.

Kings (Maschino, Garter, Cooper, Conner) 9:11.33 #

Retired district record. S. Staresinic, E. Staresinic, Flaherty, Bizzarri, 9:18.80, Mason, 2005. I seem to recall that this Mason girls team won the state 3200m relay that year.

Mason was also under the old record by a tick.

Three of the four girls on the Mason team, Ellie Brush being the other, were on the Mason team last year that set the record 8:56.62 at state last year.

Don't forget about this Kings team. They were third at state last year and also have three of four back.

Kings 9:01.43
1) Leah Maschino 11 2) Jennifer Cooper 10
3) Karleigh Conner 11 4) Hannah Rasmussen 12

Also at the Mason meet, J'Alyiea Smith (Withrow) ran 14.21 (-0.3) to take down not only the previous wind-legal best of 14.26 (Ayanna O'Neal(Withrow, 2015)), but also long-time manually-timed bests of 14.0 run by Amanda Mullins-Hall (Walnut Hills, 2002, semi-final) and LeAuna Sistrunk (Mason, 2004).

Over at Winton Woods...

Serena Clark lowers the 200m best with her 24.70 (+0.1). Previous bests were 24.88 (no wind gauge) by Lakesha Denkins (Aiken, 2007) & 24.96 (+0.0) wind-legal by Kaylan Gruber (Harrison, 2015).

Lakota East (girls) take down the 4x100m best with their 48.15 effort in heat #1. Previous best, 48.51 by Fairfield last year & Mt. Healthy's long-time manually-timed best of 48.2 back in 1991 - a team that was anchored by all-time great D'Andre Hill.

With Coach Darren Braddix coaching at Princeton, Princeton girls will be the new Withrow! They just won the GMC.

Princeton beating Mason was a shocker to me. Next big showdown is tonight at Mason district meet. After Day 1, Mason up 25-0 over Princeton. Tonight we see Princeton's strength: sprints and hurdles, relays

Princeton's girls aren't all sprints, hurdles, and relays. At the GMC meet a sophomore, Maria Kaylor, was the 3200 champion and took second in the 1600. A freshman, Keniya Dexter, took 3rd in the 800 just behind the Mason duo of Faith Min & Lily Hallum.

Kaylor appears to only be running the 3200 tonight, smart for the coach to do that with a young runner, and she has a good chance to make regional. Dexter also has a decent chance to get through in the 800.

There are some guns in that 3200m run: Bush, Maschino, Walker who are all running the 1600m run also. That should be to Kaylor's advantage.

Depends on which district meet you're going to. Winton Woods running finals start at 6:00 while Mason running finals start at 6:30.

Here are the times for Mason. I believe Wayne and Piqua are the same. Winton Woods is one half hour earlier.

Interesting that the district meets done by finishtiming show not only the district record but also the state record in each event. District meets done by ghg timing show none of that in their results. I'd like to know why since that timing company is sent what the district records are not only for DI Winton Woods but also for DII and DIII New Richmond. Compare these district results shown on Baum's page http://www.baumspage.com/tf/sw/2012/...%20Results.htm, http://live.finishtiming.com/#/results/meet/201800178
