I am not sure how anyone in Dennison or Urichsville did not know how salty the school was with the ECOL and more importantly Dover and Philly.

Knowing the school was moving into the new league - based on my personal experiences with the Claymont School District - I can't believe they kept New Philly on the schedule.

The fact that Harrison Central was on the schedule seemed like a great fit and great opening rivalry type game with a short distance to travel.

My understanding is that Claymont called NP wanting to drop the week one game if NP was able to find another opponent.
NP found another opponent, a home game against Turpin. If they would have kept Claymont on the schedule it would have been an away game.
Not sure why NP would be unhappy.

We are speaking the same language. We dropped Harrison Central and they weren't able to find another opponent until very late, they had to take a 4 hour bus ride to East Hardy WV in week one last year. I'm sure they would have rather had an away game at Claymont.

I am just saying what I heard about New Phila. It may not be accurate but if we see a situation where New Phila drops us in other sports eventually, it may have some truth to it.

Im with you also on the Harrison Central thing. Much better game for Claymont and Harrison.

The Battle of Tappan Lake should be the first game every season. HC and Claymont usually played good, entertaining games, the crowd was always good either home or away.
Evans, the new AD tried to get HC back on the schedule to replace NP but they had already signed to play Garaway the next 2 years.
I think after that Claymont and Harrison Central will be back on the schedule.

Is the rumor true that the new coach cleaned house on the coaching staff and got rid of the malcontent backstabbers? If so that is a great move.

I'm guessing he did. I have not heard of anyone coaching on the staff down there yet. I heard they had problems filling a staff last year.

Coach will have a hard time finding coaches. All Claymont football head coaches usually do. There are coaches in the system but they all back stab each other so they wont coach for each other. It just depends what guy is the head coach at the time. This group were all buddies on the last staff. The others that will be left off of this staff will be on the next guys staff. Its a cycle at Claymont.

I see on the OHSAA website that Claymont still has a few openings (as of 5/5/18).

Just saw that Garth Evans took AD/Asst. Principal job at Sandy Valley.

With Golec back as Super, will the old AD Beckley get his job back? If not, who is going to take it?

The week SV played @ Claymont this year, i was introduced to Coach Leisecki by AD Evans.. Talked to him a lil while & he seemed like a good ole boy.. Had nothing bad to say about Claymont & that he has a son that is a baseball player there... He sat on the SV side to avoid any sort of controversy, and i'm sure to see Evans.... I'm not sure of all the reasons surrounding his dismissal, but he seemed content.. IMO...

Claymont is a drama filled district. From the staff to the parents. So many back door deals. They Ran a good football coach out of town. They also ran a great young ast wrestling coach off that should have been hired as the high school head coach But he made someone on the school board mad and got screwed over. The AD Iíll not even get into that mess. Anyone moving into the twin cityís I hope you donít have kids in school.
