We are living in a world where Phila, I.V., Garaway, Coshocton, Sandy Valley and Ridgewood all have playoff wins since the last Dover playoff win. Sorry doverbuck but reality outside the Dover bubble is a little different.

None of the games got us points except the Canadian team. And we had practically zero visiting fans,IV would help pack out Crater.
Doverbuck, I wanted to address this before, but I didn't have time to post.

D2 Shaw plays mostly D1 or D2 schools, along with a couple D3s. However, Shaw seems to lose to teams with winning records, regardless of division.

This year, Cleveland CC moved up (from D4 to D3) and had a decent record, but CCC only beat the lower division schools with mostly losing records. And, CCC lost when an opponent was of the same or higher division, regardless of record.

IMO, for Week 1, Dover should play a D3 or D4 team that can beat a few of its opponents (of mostly the same or higher division) that typically have at least 5-5 records. IV does not qualify.

Potential candidate: In 2013, D4 Chagrin Falls beats D2 Madison (10-3), D3 Kenston (7-4), D3 West Geauga (8-4), D4 Orange (5-5), and in the playoffs: D4 Perry (5-5) and D4 Cleveland CC (8-3). Then, in 2014, Chagrin beats D4 Woodridge (8-3), D3 West Geauga (5-5), and D4 Orange (6-5).

Some years, Chagrin Falls is D3 and is certainly more equivalent to Dover than Cleveland CC, Shaw, Lorne Park, or IV. Plus, Chagrin might better-prepare Dover for teams like D2 Ashland and D1 Austintown Fitch. Travel time is less than an hour and a half, and, according to my old college roommate from Chagrin Falls, the team has a good fan base.

Currently, in Week 1, Chagrin has lost, 3 years in a row, to a tough D6 Kirtland team (2011 D5 State Champs). For Chagrin, playing the same Week 1 opponent for 3 years in a row is atypical. So, perhaps Chagrin's Week 1 contract is expiring???

Sorry to come out guns blazing doverbuck. Must have scratched the scar of all those poundings by Dover 15 years ago. Dover was first Tuscarawas County program to have that kind of success in football. We hope we can go on that kind of run.

It's sad that Scott Beckley lost hiS job because he was smart enough to realize that Claymont’s team had tons of talent and the coach didn't utilize it to the fullest potential. Watch the replay of the game vs. IV. Tell me how many 3rd downs that #21 wasn't on the field for the Mustangs. He also wasn't on the field much for kick returns but on kick coverage. To the total opposite look when IV's top players are on the field. Was he saving him for something??? That something should have been a win that night and a trip to week 11. Instead their season ended that cold night at Kelly Field. Total mismanagement of talent.. Scott lost his job because he wanted what was best for the kids.... For the comment of me being a cancer... I'm not out calling people Jack*** & scum bags... I'm simply entitled to my opinion.

Iím going to respond to this one time, just to correct your ignorance.

The fact that you think thatís why Scott Buckley wanted to have the coach removed, shows the extreme lack of knowledge on the subject you have. I donít bother with administration issues, itís not worth my time or effort, but you shouldnít comment on a situation in which you obviously have wrong or limited knowledge, especially based off of 1 game.

I have relatives with kids on the Claymont football team, simply going by the information they told me. I'm guessing they are wrong & I'm ignorant for believing what they communicated to me. For that I'm sorry for what I posted. Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure it always helps being buddy-buddy with the powers to be. Sure it saves many peoples jobs, especially in small towns or school districts.

Are you saying that poor coaching is why Claymont lost to Indian Valley?
Both teams were well prepared for the game. IV made one more play than Claymont on the last play of the game. Both teams and both coaching staffs gave their all that night. An outstanding game.
Claymont's coaches called a great game. They scored TD's on two plays they called for the first time this year. The 64 yard pass to Dakota Bunting right after halftime and the 77 yard hook and ladder play from Terin Harris to Lyle Clark who pitched it to Xavier Grant where plays they haven't used at all this year and the Indian Valley players and coaches were totally unprepared for them.

Wow, I'm surprised Bardawil resigned. I know that they struggled this season, but I thought it was a good fit for him. Whoever does get him, will be getting an excellent coach.

Doubt it, but if he is as good of a coach as his brother, they should improve.

No division changes for any schools for the competitive balance adjustment, although Garaway almost bumped up to Div V

What is the feels on Claymont this year? I know they lost a lot but how many starters do they return? Is their coach back? They are always very physical and never go down easy.

Small School, way to early predictions.

East Canton - 9-1 (5-0 in small school) They return everyone

Sandy Valley - 7-3 (4-1 in small school) They return some very good players

Malvern - 6-4 (3-2 in small school) Little Hutchinson is ready to take over

Strasburg - 4-6 (2-3 in small school) Lost a lot, but so did the teams below them

TCC - 2-8 (1-4 in small school) Depends on how they recruit

Buckeye Trail - 1-9 (0-5 in small school) Lost their two playmakers
