DT Pat Sims has signed with the Bengals (played his first 5 seasons in Cincinnati before he left for Oakland)

Mel Kiper has the Bengals taking Devin Funchess

Quote:
I don't have Funchess classified as a tight end, because whoever drafts him isn't going to line him up with the expectation that he'll be helping as a blocker. What he will bring is a matchup threat in the short passing game, which is where Andy Dalton needs to be able to thrive. Jermaine Gresham never turned into the player the Bengals hoped he would become, but you can have Funchess and Tyler Eifert on the field at the same time and really make it difficult for linebackers and safeties to match up with both, and Funchess has the size to overwhelm cornerbacks.

You really think the Raiders will beat them? Chiefs got screwed, away Monday nite game, then play at Cincy, thinking 2-2 is more realistic, the Bengals seem to have the Ravens number; the first 4 weeks is the easy part of the schedule.

Some pretty cool stats to see where the Bengals have come from the dreaded 90s... Also, there are some Andy Dalton stats in there which will bring me to a point that is driving my nuts. Sure, Dalton has made some bone head moves in the first few years he has been in the league, but lets be serious... Booing him at the All-Star game.. He has comparable stats to Manning during their first three years in the league.. Let the boy play. Sure everyone wants a playoff win, but can we go back to the 90s where the Bengals were never above .500?? Remember those times? Yeah I will take this day in age 10 times over the 90s. Easy up Cincy, it could be worse.. Just drive up 71 a ways and you will find it

Bengals waive James Wright and have lost him for the season...

Also, place Burfict, Porter and Hunt on the PUP which is not all to surprising. Every time I see Porter with some sort of injury (which is always) I just think how great of an addition that would have been. He could have been a force at LB

What's up with the MNF crew having a montage of "bad plays by AJ that turn in to picks" at the ready when muffed that ball and served it up to the DB like a setter? Why so quick to defend Dalton ?

Good lord the starters on both sides of the ball looked like hot trash tonight. All around awful performance.

Because Dalton gets a bad rep for throwing INTs (he should) but AJ has allowed like 5 due to being bored and not paying attention or not trying.

Yeah. It was bad. Couldn't even see what McCarron had, he never had a chance to ever do anything.

Bright side the backups on the Dline look to be pretty good. Paul Dawson, my favorite pick in the draft, looked good too.

Looked like the first team offense was trying a little bit different tactics last night. They rarely ran the ball and I cannot remember if they even targeted Eifert? Bunch of drops, bad route runs, bad passes, dreadful blocking etc. etc. etc. I am going to take this performance with a grain of salt and just hope that the OL is really not as bad as we saw last night.

Eifert got blown up on a deep pass, could not hold onto the ball.
I am most disapointed in the offensive line play, is Zeitler still hurt? he looked pathetic, Bodine did not look much better, Winston is not a NFL level tackle att his stage of his career. Hill can't hang on to the football. Overall the 1st team looked lethargic on offense and defense, what is it about TB that they give the Bengals fits every time they play?

They ran up the middle a lot with Gio and I don't understand why.

They looked like ass for sure, but as long as they stayed healthy, that's all that really matters to me in a preseason game.

So I was wrong about their record. WOW. SOFT lewis still has ZERO playoff wins. PERIOD. You all need not correct me! But hey have at it! SOFT lewis is a chump you all know this! He is a weak @ZZ leader. I give him zero or all the credit! Take your pick. The Bengals will always lay down just like SOFT lewis has coached(or lack of) them.

AND????? So I'm wrong on a flippin guess. Any more clever tidbits you would like to fling my way? SOFT lewis still has exactly ZERO playoff victories!! Just a matter of time before most on here will make an excuse the reason the bungles lose is because of injuries! You can book it! Ill sit back and read all the what ifs. While I post FACTS!!

Good day!!

You must have some infinity with Marvin...

But anyway, I am not anticipating a very successful season this year, though I hope I am wrong. Andy has to turn into that QB that the offense can fully depend on and the defense (can't wait to hear your response to this) needs to stay healthy. The core guys need to hold as a unit or they will get messed up all year. All that with as tough a schedule as they have is not looking good for them this year. I would anticipate 7 to 9 wins

Im just sick of his lack of coaching. IE: last year when Tomlin was jawing with Nelson at the end of the Pittsburgh/Cincy game about the way Nelson tackled Bell. You remember?? I sure do. Lewis went after Nelson instead of backing Nelson. lewis is SOFT! PERIOD!! You saw it!!

jtk has a little shameless behaviour in the past
this is the year if the bengals do anything. this is their best team since '05 in my opinion when carson was taken out by kimo!

any team in the NFL has to be relatively injury free to have a good season.

their schedule is tough but they could very easily win 11-12 games or as dude said only win 7-9 games.

RAH is the type of so called fan who hopes the bengals win preseason games, because of all the game planning that goes into those.
