Tyrod isn't going anywhere. New OC, new QB, 1 returning starter at the skill positions (Njoku), and no Joe Thomas/an adjusting OL. It's very the-grass-is-always-greener to think Baker Mayfield is going to step in and turn that situation into Ws. The offense needs time to gel, and that's probably not happened after only 2 real games.

Thatís good for the rest of the league since Taylor is a below average quarterback. The defense will keep them in most games though.

If they want to salvage the season, Baker will be out there sooner than later.

It took a 47 yard Hail Mary on 4th down to save Tyrod's stat line. Otherwise, very, very pedestrian.

Seriously?

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

Turns out Browns' kicker Zane Gonzalez, who is losing Cleveland's kicking job this week, has been kicking with a groin injury that requires an MRI today, per source. Browns could reach an injury settlement with him or put him on waivers, injured.

@RapSheet
The #Patriots are getting close on a deal for #Browns WR Josh Gordon, source said. Not official yet but headed that way.

3:01 PM - Sep 17, 2018

And this may be the smartest thing MKC has ever written...

Reportedly, Gordon is traded to New England for a conditional 5th round draft pick and a month's supply of Chap Stik.

But, so was the play-calling. I know Haley was trying to eat clock and keep the Saints' offense on the sideline, but did you see any chunk yardage from any of the running backs? Everyone is still trying to get comfortable; that's why I'm not panicking. I think you'll see a much most cohesive performance against the Jets.

Haley had two pretty bad calls in that game...1) reverse to Callaway (2nd time) and the throw down the field that got picked in double coverage when it was 2nd &4 and they should've been eating clock.

Other than that, his calls were solid. He doesn't have TheRapist as his QB anymore.

True. Crucial points left on the table. He gone, faster than Gordon.

Sorry, BR, as frustrating as the first two weeks have been, I still don't want to see Mayfield out there. I only have to point to what Mahomes is doing in Kansas City. I'm not saying Mayfield will replicate Mahomes' performance when his time comes, but Kansas City's patience has certainly paid off and the 23-year QB looks like the real thing. I think the Browns' 23-year old QB will, too...when it's time. Patience, folks.

None of those guys are playing with Browns' players under Browns' coaching. So far, I only regret passing on Wentz.

5th rounder is a lock. The conditional aspect of the trade is that if Gordon isn't eligible for 10 games, the Browns give NE their 7th.

"Guaranteed" to make their final pick about 40 places higher, even if JG goes full-on Afro Man.

And I can use Carson Wentz as my argument.

Baker's a different animal. Dude refuses to fail. He's not Manziel/Kessler/Kizer and he has a much better supporting cast. The Browns have never been in a better position to start a rookie than right now.

Doubt it. Five of the seven sacks against Pittsburgh were on TT holding the ball too long. O-Line was much better against NO.

As I said earlier, Haley can't make chicken salad when he's working with chicken sh!t (Tyrod).

He's knows TT is an average/JAG who doesn't process quickly, doesn't trust his arm down the field and holds the ball too long. He had to implement the Charlie Frye offense to make him functional.

Haley has to structure his offense to the QB he's working with.

And as far as Josh Gordon goes, he can rot in Hell for all I care after what I heard.

Sneaks his camera crew into the Browns facility at 11pm on Friday for a clothing line photo shoot, shows up late Saturday morning and claims he has a hamstring injury and he can't play, passes his MRI with the Pats with flying colors and is likely to play Sunday?

Dude was doing whatever he could to get out of Cleveland, hoping to get a new contract somewhere else.

Which surprises me that Jerry Jones didn't take a chance on him. He seems to think he can change a leopards spots.

And they'll keep getting better.

Mayfield has to sit 2+ games after Hue is fired, or we'll have to listen to a bunch of noise saying Hue was sabotaged by management withholding Mayfield. New guy doesn't need that nonsense.
