My neighbor who is a good friend is in full meltdown mode after this SCOTUS announcement. Told her to hang in there because Alexandria Cortez is the new face of the party.
When the dems lose there 4th ranking guy in a major city to a Bernie Sanders Lite organizer it's going to get interesting.

Her pulse should be checked hourly.

Like I said, the Kennedy thing is a fore drawn conclusion. We win again.

President Trump replacing Ginsburg will be the most fun. Keep your powder dry.

Liberal mantra "by any means necessary". That is the source of all of our problems today. HRC's disregard for the law, the quite coup undertaken by some members of the FBI and DOJ to oust the President and the defacto open borders insisted on by the Democratic Party are all a result of this mindset. They think they know better than the American people and because they do, they do not believe the laws apply to them.

Basic "Rules for Radicals".

I think Trump should say he is going to nominate himself just to watch people's heads explode about it.

Does he burn Judge Amy Coney-Barrett now, or use her later against the "untimely" departure of Ginsburg?

Suffice to say, there's no way she'll make it until 2025

He was nominated by President Reagan. A republican...... As I have said. Trump has this nominee and one more in the next 6 years. Wait and see

No obligation for that here, really. How many 4-4 ties do you anticipate while Kennedy's seat is unfilled ?

Trump's approval is up, and unlike the untimely passing of Scalia in the twilight of Obama's tenure that facilitated the eventual Gorsuch pick, there is no need to play the middle here.

The best nominee is the one that initiates the most Democrat self-destruction pre-midterms.

Here's a good example -

OK, next term, too ?

There will certainly be a lull once the 2020 campaigns start in which the left will want to stall as McConnell did on Obama. No reason to believe the Senate will be lost, and thanks to Slugger Reid things are looser, but they may not force a nominee through.

Initially Reagan's Gorsuch, and one who slid leftwards long ago. Money in the lib bank for quite a while. What's your point ?

Did you read those as sincere posts or something ?

That's what I'm saying. I responded to a post from east wondering whether Trump would pick a moderate.

Gorusch isn't a moderate by any means, he's firmly on the conservative side. He's also young for a justice, assuring he will be casting conservative votes for decades to come. Trump should replicate that as closely as he possibly can with every nomination he has the opportunity to make.

This isn't a topic I follow closely, to have insight but Gorsuch just tipped the scales on a ruling that hit the liberal base in the gut, no? The position Gorsuch filled, was open a long time. I don't recall the liberal wing putting up much of a fight.

I get that "most" popular is a relative thing, doesn't exactly mean "popular" but do you think the situation is different enough, that Trump might add some to the list and take some off? I would imagine a bigger fight over this pick.

Something different... be nice. Not all legal thought has to come out of the coasts,..., or England. Is there a Roy Bean out there?

There is no fight to be had, the Dems have no power.

He's arrogant enough to nominate his own 81 yr old sister, currently on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
