Division V Region 20

Can anyone in Region 20 compete with Anna? They are an absolute juggernaut this year. CHCA? Versailles?
I really don't see anyone competing with theRockets.

Thoughts?

Not sure Versailles will make the playoffs unless Celina wins out. I think they maybe go 5-5. CHCA seems like they're struggling with the good part of their schedule so other than that I don't think so either.

If Versailles gets in the playoffs, it'll be because they backed in. Tigerball has been mostly dormant since Al Hetrick retired. Competitive yes, but year after year they beat who they should beat and lose to who they should lose to. Every year, people think they're going to make noise, and they usually putter along to a 5-5 or 4-6 record.

Anna still has to play CW,ML,SH, and Minster. Do they make the play-offs with a 6-4 record ?

Carlisle, Greenview and West Jeff might be tough. Milton isn't a threat right now. Two losses and the beef of their schedule left. MU will be 5-5 this year.

I just hope Coldwater can beat Anna. Marion Local and St Henry will be interesting. I think they can beat Minster but it'll be a shoot out

CHCA is only 1-2 and that's against the good part of their schedule

I agree with Bless on Milton being a 5-5 team. I have seen them play portions of three games. The Duffer has even stated it. The team has some flaws and some talent. I see them losing to Brookville, Madison and Carlisle. Could they steal one of those games ! Possible. Could they lose to Prebble Shawnee ? Yes. 4-6 at the worse and 6-4 at best. The Miami East game was the killer.

One thing about the Dogs, they always beat "Da Ridge". I think the Polar Bears have beaten Milton once in the last 50 years. I think the last time Da Ridge won was in 1974.

In defense of "Da Ridge", they had some good teams in the 80s under MacPherson, but the Dogs we're in the SRC at that time.

This region will be won by CHCA or Anna. No question. CHCA has had a few injuries including their starting RB and OLB but they are still really good. They beat Indian Hill who would beat anyone in this region with the exception of Anna. They will still probably finish as the #1 or #2 seed in the region.

Anna is really good but they haven't played their four toughest opponents yet. If they make the playoffs and are healthy at the end of the regular season, I would say the Rockets would have to be the favorite for the region.

The rest of the region is pretty average at best. Bethel Tate is not good.

8/25 H Waynesville (0-3) [5:20] W 47-22 (0-10 last year)
8/31 A St Bernard-Elmwood Place (0-3) [6:24] W 40-0 (3-7 last year)
9/8 H Purcell Marian (1-2) [5:20] W 21-20 (3-7 last year)

I'll reserve judgement till after the Batavia game but I remember the 2015 team which makes me think this team will be the same way.

I believe as well that this is Anna or CHCA from this region.

I have never seen Anna play, but the whipping they put on Brookville was eye-opening.

CHCA gave away the game against Fenwick, blowing a 21-0 lead, beat a good Indian Hill team in a pouring rain, and battled Wyoming well, but lost crucial turnovers.

The big thing for CHCA is that these 3 games against probably D4 playoff teams (Fenwick perhaps, IH and Wyoming for sure) is that they showed they can compete and win against bigger teams and different styles.
Fenwick - grind it out pound the rock (53 rushes)
Indian Hill - spread and throw
Wyoming - shotgun QB run, intermediate passing game

Although the Eagles went 1-2, I am really encouraged.

Anna though sounds really good...another MAC superpower in the making?
Let's see how they do at the end of the season with CW, ML, St Henry and Minster gauntlet. My lord that conference is good

Funny thing is the 2015 version is a polar opposite of this seasons team as far as offensive philosophy is concerned. 2017 is up tempo spread...quite the change in 2 years

Sounds nice but beating hapless Waynesville and St Bernard-Elmwood Place isn't a measure of a good team. I do hope you guys do well and am glad your #'s are up.

I wouldn't sleep on Carlisle. Greenview and West Jeff haven't beaten anyone noteworthy yet. Greenview plays (3-0) Mechanicsburg so we'll see about them after that. West Jeff plays hapless Cedarville. I do agree that Milton will probably be 5-5

I have nothing to do with bethel other than essig gave me my first job as a coach 10 years. Was just relaying info of the style change. My team plays them this week

Hey ! Who you calling hapless ? Waynesville plays on a state of the art turf field, and has a really cool smoke and light show for when the team enters the field. At least they used to when my kids went there, can't say what new and exciting things they have come up with the last few years since my youngest has graduated. Winning isn't one of them.

That's great that you have all the bells and whistles. When did they last win a football game? 10-30-2015 against Milton Union. Didn't mean hapless as in crappy facilities, I meant as a crappy team.

I must not have had my sarcasm font cranked up bright enough. I had a hard time trying to get into watching the football they produced down here, but man they looked cool.
Haven't been to a game since my youngest graduated.

All they can do is play their schedule...Number 2 in the City in Passing, Receiving and Sacks. They seem to be doing O.K. Ranked 10 in the State D5, Currently would be a 3 seed in Region 20. Im not saying they are the best, but to say they are NOT good seems out of line for the stats.
