Don't know about city schools, but we had donkey basketball games as well as donkey softball games. Some "results" were funny to say the least.:

Do they have the ABITIBI paper dumpsters at Grove City schools ?

LOL at a city-wide pot luck today. Lots of foil or plastic "tins" in that garbage run. Costco would get a real boost.

I went to a carnival in Tucson recently and there was a "ride" in which two people could enter the ring and "fight" using life-size rock-em-sock-em get-ups.

You can get them at Walmart. We got some for 15 bucks. I don't know why the Amazon ad says discontinued.

Electric football had to be the worst game ever. 90% of the players went in circles, the kicking and throwing things never worked and they sold millions of them.

Anyone remember the Monday Night Football game? Now that one was good.

Didn't get the MNF game, but did get another type that had offensive and defensive plays on cards. When placed on top of the field and illuminated by the light under the field, the path of the runner or pass showed up as well as the defensive movement. Pretty cool as far as strategy. At least, the runner never ran the wrong way!

Play? If it couldn't get you arrested or put in the hospital for more than a visit, it was fair game.

My neighbor was beating the crap out of his son-in-law. I kept yelling at him to use an uppercut to the point of the chin to pop the head out, but he just settled for pounding his son-in-law.

That's how the MNF game worked. Each side had cards with plays. The offense cards went into the long side of the "stadium" while the defense cards went into an end. Once both teams set their plays you flipped the switch and a tiny box on the filed was illuminated to show the play result. "Bomb" versus "Secondary Rush" was always a TD!

There is a competitive electric football league in College Station. Apparently people take it rather serious

I had the MNF game. It was good the first couple times you played it but then you found the little quirks like the one mentioned above. Another was first and goal inside the 10, the defense would pick "Goal Line" and offense "Bomb" and it would always be a TD.

Good stuff. I found one a couple years ago and thought about buying it but it was in such bad condition I left it behind. I always run bombs inside the 10!

We had this Parker Brothers Football from 1983. You had the cards, put the nmber in of the play and what defense you wanted and then listened.

Didn't light up or anything. Had slots to upgrade to different years but believe it was the only one.

It had a book with all the plays, the average yards for that play, % of times it was successful, etc.

We played the hell out of that and still have notes in that book. We break it out every year around Christmas and such!

Someone was smart to bring that back. The puny version they had for a while was horrible by comparison.
