Off the top of my head from what Iíve seen recently Delgarbino, Lee, Earnest, Cover, Bodkin. Good move for Cover to go up from 220. He looks very good at heavy. Delgarbino wrestles like a much smaller weight and has improved tremendously over the last year or two. He should be nationally ranked soon. Girard needs to get him into IM next season.

Lee pinned Emerson from Bedford (Temperance, Mich) in the finals of the Maumee Bay last night. Emerson had been ranked #8 in the country and had a win over Vough last year. He looked pretty good up to that point and I think the match was tied at the time of the take down and pin.

Has to be more "upsets" in that weight class than any other. Once they are put on their back, it is pretty much over unless there is short time on the clock.

Lee lost last weekend to not ranked nationally DeBoe from Cathedral Prep (PA) at Perry Pin City.

The best HVY in the state right now is Earnest from Wadsworth. I don't see a nationally rankable wrestler in the crop, though Lee has a win over a nationally ranked wrestler.

I'm going with Earnest. If for no other reason than he put up more points on Ben Frye in the semi last year than all of Frye's previous 40+ victims did combined, I believe. I could be wrong on that but if I am it is very, very close.

Overall, not a banner year for HWTs this year. I think prior year high placers like Frye, Spaulding, Bonner, Gutafpel, Cloud, etc. would all be favorites this year.

That said, I like Lee and Alec Moore can be tough to score on. On a Saturday in March, that can be huge, when points are sometimes hard to come by.

Stears outworked Moore at SWOCA. Stears looks pretty athletic for a heavy.
