Stanton to Yanks

Hello 2018 WS champs. Yankees managed to buy another WS.

Will be interesting to see if the Yankees go after Harper now since either Judge or Stanton will have to move to 1B or DH permanently, which then pushes Greg Byrd out of the lineup. This team is going to crush the record for strikeouts in a season. Plus NYY still want to get Machado

Saw on Twitter somewhere that Stanton and Judge put together struck out more last year than DiMaggio did his entire 23 year career

Because Harper would fit into this lineup more than Stanton. So if NYY don't go after Harper because they already have Stanton, that makes this a dumb signing imo

With the Stanton trade, Harper will likely become a Cub... So good news Reds fans.

Yeah f that. He's from the West Coast, hopefully he goes to the Giants or Dodgers instead since they missed out on Stanton.

I'd be stoked to get to see Harper a few times a year for $4.

Well, they did it again. The Yankees just can't be young and build. This will be their downfall folks. They always go after high profile players and overpay them and it blows up in their face.
Between Stanton and Judge, look for 350 plus strikeouts. Yes, they'll hit a few homers, but you don't win in baseball with home run hitters.

Lol....

Stanton is only a risk if he gets hurt or really plays poorly in 2019. He will opt out of his contract and the Yankees will be "off the hook". If Stanton does not opt out then the Marlins kick in some money.

The only way he does not opt out is if he gets hurt.

That's gonna push the Reds rebuild back another 5-8 years.

I think he meant if the Cubs sign Harper. 9 games a year on Cincy at $4 a game to watch Harper hit them out of GABP.

They only have one of the top two rated farm systems (so much for building from within, eh) and barely had to give up anything for Stanton. Maybe it's the good kind of getting screwed?

Most of what I have read says they will move Judge to LF similar to moving ARod to third when they got him and there were debates about having two superstars at the same position. Their lineup is going to be beyond frightening.

Yankees-Dodgers World Series according to Vegas. Hello TV ratings.

Gardner
Judge
Stanton
Sanchez
Bird
Gregorius
Hicks
Headley
Torres

Yikes, lol

Cleveland was the better baseball team this year, as proven over a 162 game season, but they lost in a 5 game series. Sh*t happens. They'll be a better baseball team again next year and probably beat them this time, if the Yanks get that far.

Totally agree. There's a reason the Yankees are one of the worst franchises in baseball.

Kiss of death - projections. We've seen baseball teams try to buy pennants forever, and it rarely works out. Talk about you everyday lineup all you want, baseball is about...as Alan Cutler says...pitching pitching pitching.

Bird is young, Gardner most likely will DH.

I think it was a little different back then, first of all no free agency. You did not move teams unless traded.

The other issue in this is the fact that the Marlins, in order to be competitive, have to trade their best player and really get nothing in return. Derek Jeter got ahold of that team and saw there was no way they could win with Stanton's contract on the books and basically had to give him away. Something seems wrong about that.

Jeter is a silent owner of the Yankees secretly gutting the Marlins franchise to benefit the Yankees. Essentially using Miami as their Triple A team

Ownership there has been that way for years. AJ Burnett, Josh Beckett, Brad Penny, Miguel Cabrera, etc. Fire sale like every other season.
