I hope he stays cut. He's terrible.

Hubbard following Haley to the Browns. Versatile rotational guy or Thomas replacement ? Probably depends on Solder.

Looks like the Steelers are going to sign S Morgan Burnett. Seems like a good pick up. A huge upgrade over Mitchell.

that coupled with Bostic should help the defense a bit, along with whatever we get in the draft.

The draft will be interesting. I can see them going after CB, LB, WR, RB, or OL in the first three rounds.

if any of those top 4 ILB fall to them at 28 (of whatever pick they have), they're gonna take one of them.

if those top 4 get picked, i wonder what direction they will go. maybe safety?

we shall see.

Doubt they go safety unless someone unexpectedly falls to them. They just gave Burnett 3 years/ $14m.

They should go LB if there is someone they like, can"t have too much talent there. If not CB or OL to replace Hubbard.

You think they go RB with Bell and Conner? RB talent so good you think they can't pass on it, or preparing for a future without Bell?

Yeah, it depends on their intentions with Bell. Obviously, they'll completely ignore RB early on if they intend to sign him after next season.

If Ben sits for the second game, I'd like to see him with the first team instead of Landry or Dobbs.

Landry Jones cut. Not surprising given how improved Dobbs looked in preseason.

Patterson also cut in favor of DHB and newly-added return specialist Ryan Switzer, but I expect he'll be on the practice squad.

Martavis Bryant cut by the Raiders. Suspected suspension on the way. Thanks for the draft pick, John.

I like it. We've seen what Landry can do when called upon. Also not getting any younger. Dobbs is an extremely bright guy from all accounts and has legs that LJ was lacking.

Have a feeling we're up for a Tomlin Special this weekend. Not sure if the Steelers lose, but I think it will be very close.

I agree. There is something in the air, at Cleveland, all the hype that the Browns are drastically improved. But I picked the Steelers 27-17 on the Browns thread so I'll go with it but that doesn't mean it won't be difficult.

Bell holding out last year really held the offense back early in the season and off to a slow start.

I expect that to happen, again.

I understand his stance, but show up and practice. Show good faith and maybe, JUST MAYBE, he would get more money than initially offered.

I stand behind the steelers front offense on this dispute and if this team struggles early steelers fans will hold bell accountable.

Use him and abuse him all years

First upset of the year right here.

With Bell either not playing or being extremely rusty I see the steelers sputtering in week 1

Don't really see the player holdouts doing nothing but increasing. It's trickled down to college players missing bowl games recently to maintain health. Some key players who held out till last week got PAID and weren't going to suit up until doing so. Kinda understand Bell and his agent wanting him to be in top health and have the most value when looking for a long term deal this offseason. It's a business on both sides whether we as fans like it or not.

I really see some top college players sitting out more and more games here in the future. If a player's team isn't in the running for a conference championship do they start sitting the last few games and risk injury when they know it could cost them millions?

Hope Steelers go on to win the SB, Bell is named MVP and he tears his knee to shreds in the SB.

Sounds like his teammates have as much of a problem with what he's doing as the fans.

It does sound like it.

I think the players realize as well that the window to win in the NFL is short, and the steelers window right now is darn near closed and without Bell at full speed it is completely closed.

If he was getting hosed on a deal then fine, hold out, but the dude will make bank this year.

He is being extremely SELFISH in the ultimate team game.

I bet Odell B would not have got a new deal if he didn't report for camp. LB needed to show a good faith gesture and come to camp and get some work in. I woulda been fine with him getting zero reps in the preseason games.

I

I have no issue with Bell's holding out. None at all.

I can't believe that they can tag a guy a second year.

I don't like that a team can repeat franchising a guy, but that's the NFLPA's fault. I also don't have much sympathy for him when he's guaranteed being paid as a top 5 back and would make $853K a game. He also purportedly told teammates he was coming in then left them hanging.

They aren't asking him to play for minimum wage.

Yeah,
No doubt.
14 million, just under 900K a week......

With that said, what an utterly embarrassing game yesterday. This team will be lucky to get to .500 this season.

Conner’s 4th Q fumble pretty much cost them a win. He gets an A+ from me
