Not true....You should change your name to CNN,cause it seems all you do here is instigate with peeps on a bunch of different threads.Didnt say the 80s were the best, just said more people came to games.
Ive volunteered for many different activities in struthers over the years and still do today.
I guess that's the thanks I get for giving you guys updates on the field projects.
I'm totally relaxed

CNN is a totally reliable credible news source. - lol

I just don’t think the digs are necessary. Stadium is filled more than not.

There’s been games the last couple years where you would have fans on the visitors side because there was no seating on the home side, not to mention the students have their own seating now.

First time I saw the finished product I was shocked at how small the home side was. Felt it was completely inadequate, at least comparing to what the concrete stands were holding.

The home side needs to be close to double the current size.
Maybe someone will notice how inadequate the stadium truly is.
Struthers fans really follow the team regardless of their record.

In actuality, we probably could use a stadium the size of Campbell.
They obviously don't need a 7,200 seat stadium drawing perhaps 100 people to the home side.

Eventually were going to have to increase the size of the stadium.
With mainly local teams on the schedule, it's gonna get filled.

I heard part of the master plan is to close Garfield and extend the home seating back. No idea on the time frame though.

That's EXACTLY what they should do.
Our stadium is nice, but nowhere near the seating capacity it should be.

Looks more DV-DVI size.
And we're not dropping to DV any time soon. At least I don't think we are.

Iíve heard so many things regarding this project. Taking it all with a grain of salt.

You're 100% right, Struthers is definitely a D6 stadium by the numbers:

Struthers D4 2868

Here are some D6 teams with bigger stadiums than Struthers in The Valley, that's 2 divisions below Struthers with comparable stadiums:

Mineral Ridge D6 2961
Liberty D6 3000
Springfield Local D6 3182

All info gathered on ohiostadiums.com

Yeah and that is ridiculous for it to be that small, issues with closing Garfield to build have been a problem, I like higher stands like Hubbard has compared to the smaller longer stand still like canfield has, turf needs done first, then let everything else fall in line

All in all, our seating is small, lakeviews can’t be much bigger, edgewood is also very small I would like to see the numbers on those two. The field house probably doubles every conference team if not triples in basketball, but the football seating is a complete 180

Here you go:

Edgewood D4 2166
Lakeview D4 2017 *

* To be fair, Lakeview's numbers are old, they still had them playing on grass. They need to update their stats because I think they added seats when they added turf.

Struthers field house to me is the best in the Valley. I also liked South as well.

Canfield D3 3040

You have a point on height of the stands:

Hubbard has 3000 on the home side, 2000 on the visitors side.

Height is the way to go as you have stated.

If you are going by what is listed on ohiostadiums.com then that is out of date or incorrect. The home side alone is about 2900-3000, the visitors side is about 1700-1800. Total capacity not including the band seating in the end zones is about 4600-4800.
By the way the the field-turf at Canfield is scheduled to be replaced in 2019 or 2020, but currently they are still trying to raise the money.
The home side stands are also awaiting renovation, and at which point the seating would increase by about 750-1000 and add handicapped seating.

I believe that site is wrong. Has Struthers as having turf and we do not yet have turf.

I am thinking 5-5 to. Maybe get lucky and go 6-4. It will be a bigger loss on defense then offense

I donít think so. Weíll see. They return more than just Willie. He is a stud but I think theyíll be fine without. This opens the offense up more to Jd Hall I think.

Loseable games are Hubbard poland lakeview and canfield, I don’t see them losing to anyone else 6-4 or 7-3, return a young but experienced line that’ll always do wonders

Most likely a similar season to Hubbard last year imo. Lose star player, lose some close ones. Result about 5-5. IMO it's a pretty big loss. Any time you lose a D1 caliber player it hurts.

Doubt them. Got a lot of talent in that junior class waiting to break out. If the line is good they will be fine. Hubbard did not have a good line last season. People undersell how important a good line is. Willie is a great player. Absolutely. But the cats return 2 other running backs who had a lot of carries last year. Brown and Chism. Will hurt the cats on defense. Tomko is a hard nosed Struthers kid in the middle, I believe he can be very good. Burnside on the outside and maybe Serrano at the will now. But the cats I see at least 6 wins. Right now. We’ll see how the talent plays out.
