Last year, ptc boys put 4 teams in the top 8 at regionals in track. 3 in top 8 the year before.

Also the ptc is considered pretty strong in wrestling. Coventry has won a few state championships there in the 80's and 90's. The have declined since and have been especially down the prior 2 seasons, however they are now rebounding and are looking to send a sizeable contigent to state once more alongsides Woodridge and Streetsboro.

Rumors continue, CVCA to Metro, Mogadore Field drop to County. Also rumblings of Middlefield Cardinal and Burton Berkshire interested. Valley Christian and Lake Center should be dropped. Valley too far and Lake never followed through with starting a football program.

Heck yeah!!!

not that CVCA to metro but yeah that is a good fit but just being proactive to refill the county. Nothing agains Valley or Lake Center

But would love to see both tiers solid with teams.

With CVCA, the PTC Metro would be hands down the best league in the state for D2 track and Field, without a doubt. Woodridge? CVCA? Coventry? Streetsboro? Cloverleaf? Norton?

If we could throw Tallmadge in the mix, say if Ravenna leaves, that would be a league of Woodridge, Coventry, Streetsboro, Norton, Cloverleaf, Tallmadge, CVCA, and Springfield.

Better than many D1 leagues in Track and Field.

And It would be better than currently in football too.

Garretsville have had top throwers in the state for years.
Okay, it is a very small league so lets take those state championships with a grain of salt. Those sports (who most do not care about) only really matter at the D1 level.

Those wouldn't be bad picks, anything on Windham moving back or no? I'm tired of the NAC lol.. I honestly think Windham should be in the AAC: with Newton Falls, Champion, LaBrae on the small school side. Valley Christian yea that was a bit far for the PTC teams. My cousin plays on the Rootstown Girls Basketball team, had a game at VC now VC should be in MVC or AAC makes most sense.. I didn't know Lake Center was spouse to start a football program. They could be in the East Canton league or some other one.

Who are you to say which sports matter in which divisions or not? When it comes to xc or track, I think I will take Psychodad, who was an individual state champion himself, word on the matter over yours. At any rate, there is no difference between a sub 15 5k in d1 vs d2. But, anyways, back to the main sports.

Actually, who are you in general to go around trashing leagues? You seem like a pretty miserable individual. I admit, the ptc is nowhere near the best league in the state. But to go around trashing teams, some of whom have really put a lot of effort into improving across all sports in recent years, especially Coventry and Woodridge, really betrays a lot of ignorance on your part. And ignoring Mogadore's accomplishments just makes you look that much more stupid. I don't know why anybody in their right minds should take you seriously anymore. Sad.

Tallmadge is probably a better fit in PTC than Suburban. CVCA is in a terrible league travel wise. Soccer is an issue there though. They would have to go somewhere that allows their soocer team to play an independent schedule as they do now. Tallmadge just doesn't have great talent right now.

Tallmadge just went 8-4, 2nd round of playoffs. All 4 loses coming to very competitive playoff teams. Talent seems to be fine.

Looking a little deeper. The Tallmadge JV was not very good and they didn't even field a freshman team.

Must not have had much to choose from. Rittman went 3-7 last year in Divison 7.

I think that was a really good hire by Field. Coach Nelson is a really good coach and even better person. I know that he did not have much to work with athlete wise while coaching at Rittman, but he did get the most out of his athletes. I wish Coach Nelson and Field nothing but the best.

I second this, it takes a special person to coach at Rittman and even get them to 5-5 which he had done a few times.

What is an example of a "good league/conference"? Please remember that the Federal League and the Suburban League are made of schools much larger than the PTC.

In football alone:
Rootstown- Regional Final
Mogadore- Regional Semi
Woodridge-Playoffs (Lost to STVSM)
Valley Christian- Playoffs

Baseball (2017):Ravenna, Woodridge, Springfield, and Field were District Qualifiers.

For a mid-level conference I would say the do pretty well. Some schools are better at some sports and some sports are stronger than other.

Just use some perspective on the league as a whole.

Not perfect, but not trash either.

I have heard nothing but positives from other coaches about Levi Nelson. Good Luck in the PTC Metro. I believe they played a ton of young guys last year.

CVCA has 2 varsity soccer teams, 1 plays and indy schedule and the other would play the conference schedule like they do in the PAC.

How come nobody mentions Norton when discussing the PTC?

Sad the Norton administration cares so little about football there............

Kevin Pollock seems to be a coach that recognizes the value running track can bring to the football team. I expect Norton's football team will turn around, and their track program, which has just had a couple up years, will continue to be invested in and developed, similar to what Coventry did. I think this was a good hire for Norton.

I'm sure Barberton is not canceling their week one game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone want to bet how long it takes the 2 Pollocks to have a winning season at Norton?

Hopefully the AD and Superintendent at Norton will be held accountable for this selection three years from now.

Yeah, seems like they hired him because of his last name, not his credentials.

That being said, I hope he does well.
