Can't really see Central fitting into the league or that they would want to. Isn't Campbell already in a league. Are they willing to get out if they are ?

Maybe we need to reshuffle. Get a D5-6 league and a D6-7 league out of the two MVAC and EOAC leagues. Nobody will be happy all the time. If EP and Columbiana leave to go up north, I bet schools like Jackson Milton and Lowellville (D7's) will come south. It will work itself out if the schools talk it out and think it out. I still think nothing will change. EOAC will find a replacement and things will be fine. EP and Col. both made the playoffs last year and will continue to if they keep winning.

Yes, that is true, but the point accumulation was mediocre until the last 3 games. You get no points for Leetonia, nor do you get a truckload from Southern and Wellsville. Columbiana only slid in due to beating McD. Just saying.

I could be wrong, but I thought you got points for any win. Granted, you would get minimal points for a win over 0-10 Leetonia, but you do get something. Semantics, regardless.

I like the idea of a d5-d6 and a d6-d7 league formed from the two existing leagues.

I could see it shake out something close to this, with two leagues of 7. The d5-d6 league would be solid, and the d6-d7 league would benefit those schools in it. Southern is kind of the X factor here though...Where do they end up? A league with better geographic locations or more comparable d6 opponents?

d5-d6:
EP
Col
United
Springfield
McDonald
WR
MR

d6-d7:
Sebring
Leetonia
Lisbon
Wellsville
Southern
JM
Lowellville

That would've been nice, but obviously if there was interest in it it would've happened when the leagues split. From what I gather the MVAC schools are pretty content for the most part. The big thing will be if Sebring can field a football team.

That lineup only gives you six games. Same situation EOAC is currently in. I think it stays the same. EP and Col are going nowhere.

When the schools scrambled, obviously thinking was not prevalent. I think you and I had this discussion before kingpin.

In a league of 8 during league weeks you get credit for 4 wins and each week. So it comes down to out of conference scheduling and how well they do.

Too bad this is not viewed by 14 schools as an option. You can always add in a rotating cross-over game to get your 7th game...leaves you with just 3 OOC games. Or, if you have a rivalry game (like Lisbon vs United), then you keep that from year to year.

Lisbon-United would and should always be played. I am not so sure some of the other matchups would be viewed with the same enthusiasm from either side. EP and Southern have a long history and some of the old ICL teams have squared off for years but times have changed and so have enrollments. I doubt Sebring wants to play Springfield and I doubt Springfield would want to play Sebring. I like the lineup, I just would not make crossovers mandatory, that is what brought down the ITCL. Find another team for your league or find a week 4 game. If EP and Columbiana are bolting (I don't think they are) then the smaller schools in the MVAC would want out I would think. This lineup could just naturally happen.

At this point I would think a 7 team league is a real possibility with a rotating by week in football. I just don't see anyone jumping ship from another league.

I just think the schools valued geography and traditional opponents when they split. It was sudden but they certainly had the opportunity to make something else happen if they really wanted.

I'd say a 7 team league is extremely likely. Which I don't think will be bad, there's enough leagues (NAC, PTC come to mind) that don't have 8 that would have games available.

Depends on if you want to play them or if they want to play you. Not too many in either league you mentioned would play a D5. Replacing Toronto with another D7 is a bad move. If the vacancy stays open, the EOAC may save itself from oblivion.

On a side note, I was unaware the old TCL Director was in charge of the MVAC. If this is true, that being said, could make things interesting if the prior suggested teams are looking elsewhere.

Bold statement, however, no one here said they were afraid, some just do not want to play schools that are 2 divisions higher. Point being one of the reasons the ITCL broke up, then again some small schools like to brag, but can't walk the talk.

Now, go crawl back into your hole.

Weirton and Oak Glen are much bigger schools than any member of the EOAC. Our D7 schools should not be playing them, may as well take Salem or Minerva. Oak Glen stinks, but they may not always stink. Madonna is a private school. I personally do not think it makes any sense for a small school public league to take in a private school. They play by different rules. I would rather add an East Canton or Malvern or both if others opt to leave.

The chances of the members from the EOAC taking a private like SCC, Madonna, or Valley Christian are probably slim to none. Whether they do or not, the perception of public schools is that they do play by a different set of rules.

I agree with you bop, East Canton and Malvern are probably the two most likely targets the EOAC has. But DO THEY want to join the EOAC?

My guess is they are going to play a seven team league. Nobody on here can agree who would be the perfect fit. I doubt the powers that make that decision can agree on the new member either.

Never say never, but my initial reaction is that they would not be interested.

State your case. What can the EOAC do for them that the IVC cannot?

Because Malvern has been so successful against EOAC teams recently. You have to go back to 2014 for them to beat United and their only other wins were against nearly winless Southern teams.
