Richard Sherman talking to the 49ers. Hoping to see Wilson turn the right one-on-one scramble upfield into him in lieu of his typical timely step out of bounds. Russ is a stout li'l fella. He can handle it

He'll land somewhere. I don't see any more 1000 yard seasons in him as I think some of his success was based upon a special relationship with Rodgers.

Not sure. Schefter just said he was released. Saved Packers $10M+.

Could just be a cap casualty, like Celek, I guess. Maybe further down the hill from his best days than Celek, due to injuries.

Kirk Cousins signs with the Vikings, hopefully giving the Vikes a bona fide starter for the first time in forever.

Post 1999, the Vikes have to have the worst QB history after the Browns. It's unbelievable really. Get a load of this list of starting QBs post Warren Moon:

Brad Johnson
Jeff George
Randall Cunningham
Dante Culpepper - pretty good career honestly, then destroys his ACL & MCL in a game against the Panthers. And so it goes
Todd Bouman
Spergon Wynn
Gus Frerotte
Brad Johnson - second stint! he was actually pretty damn good in 05-06.
Tarvaris Jackson
Kelly Holcomb
Brooks Bollinger
Gus Frerotte again! started 11 games!
Tarvaris Jackson - '08 playoff game starter, goes 15 for 35 in loss to Eagles
Brett Favre - Why did you have to throw it down the middle Favre. Needed about ten yards and Longwell kicks the winning FG to go to the SB
Joe Webb - started a playoff game! Goes 11/30 in loss to Packers
Christian Ponder - lol
Donovan McNabb
Matt Cassell
Josh Freeman - named starter a week after being signed to the team. Starts MNF game, which did NOT go well. Never played in NFL again
Teddy Bridgewater - our franchise QB has arrived! Destroys leg in preseason two years later, almost dies
Sam Bradford - the man with glass legs
Shaun Hill - 37 years old with the mobility of a sloth
Case Keenum

Kirk Cousins

Pretty crazy to fully guarantee $84 million. I read that his diet and exercise regimen is every bit as comprehensive as Brady's, but it's still a cap gamble, insured or not.

The Vikes are a SB caliber team. You have to go for it. Odds are Keenum regresses back to his previous form next season, and Bradford will last 3-4 games before injuring himself. Noone has any clue if Bridgewater will ever recover. In 2015 he had a pretty weak arm and could not throw down field effectively; that most likely hasn't improved in the past 2.5 years.

I agree. Shame about Teddy. (I heard somewhere he's ectomorphic - skinny knees, you know.) They couldn't really roll the dice on him or Sam staying healthy.

They'll have to be looking for a back-up, too. Practice squad finds and a late round project QB pick as well ?

Cousins makes the Vikings co-favorites, with Philly, for the NFC title. The key, though, is for the Vikings to get home field. They are built for the perfect conditions of US Bank Stadium, and not that messy sandbox in Philly. With Cousins getting nine games indoors, and one in LA, he'll have ten games of ideal conditions to use all weapons and watch the Vikes D fly around the field.

This is a great day for Vikings fans...and for us season ticket holders. Cha-ching!

Vikes get Siemian from Broncos. Meh, would still rather get another guy in the late rounds of the draft.

Also lose McKinnon to the 49ers. Really need Dalvin Cook to come back at full strength now.

I think he'll be a below average QB. The NFL loves to hand out contracts to backup QBs based on extremely small sample sizes and they rarely work out. Won't help McCarron that the Bills have already lost their top two offensive lineman.

Not a great contract, but the market was down after everything else filled. Be curious to see how he does in comparison to Taylor. I hope he can take advantage of the opportunity. Seems like a likable kid.

It seems to guarantee that the Bills trade up.

Bills
Broncos
? NYJ ? - (Bridgewater and McCown signed)

Who else vying for QB draft leftovers ?

I think NYGs take Rosen. They outbid us for Solder, and Rosen could start after week 8. Does Indy want to keep the high pick at 3 for Barkley or Chubb ? I'm guessing yes.

Watson's injury may be the best thing that happened to the Browns draft.

Nope, he's done. Not good enough, and too polarizing. Not good enough to start most places and you can't have a guy like that as a backup, too much circus. Wonder if he will realize someday what he gave up for a silly social opinion.
I see a Football Life documentary 10 years from now where he reflects back and regrets his decision.

I don't agree with his position, but many thought guys like Ali we're dangerous subversives and history has proven that quick perceptions may be very different in time.

If his position is honestly held, he won't regret it. Plus, the celebrity he's attained outside of football frpm this will put food in his mouth for a long time,

He made like $50 million in a few years. He likely earns more in interest each year that 14red will see in a lifetime of grinding away behind a desk.

Ali was GOOD at boxing. Kaepernik was good at football for a couple of seasons, then imploded. Took a controversial social stand as a backup QB and is not out of the league.
If Ali was Buster Douglas or Jerry Quarry, he would not have had the same impact. The fact that Ali was great at boxing led the way for his controversial beliefs.

Ali was subversive. The jail term publicly negated much potential effectiveness of his subversion. Pretty simple.

Then you lost me. Who is hiring Kaep for what because of this protest history ?
