The last one of the group is definitely still undecided. His decision has nothing to do with playing varsity in sports as a freshman and he could go to school for free at one GCL school and very discounted at another. People need to realize that Elder doesn't have the same mystique it used to. To the crazy adults who have said rude things to these kids should be ashamed of themselves. The stories are crazy!! This is a very personal decision and please leave them alone!!! My son is friends with the last kid deciding and he is one of nicest and most respectful kids I have met.
Bravery?

Maybe bravery isn't the best word, but c'mon, you know what he's getting at.

Families with those deep legacy names and not picking Elder are opening themselves up for scrutiny which I imagine they have received, which is BS. That takes some stones to go outside of the mold.

These kids and their families chose a high school so let's cut the drama. They may be subjected to some good natured ribbing from family members, nothing more.

I agree it's not that big of a deal, but apparently, according to some, they're getting some negative comments thrown their way.

No clue if it's true or not...just going on what's been insinuated here.

If adults are genuinely saying nasty things to them, they need a beating. Elder already took enough PR damage a few weeks ago. Can't have these idiots making things worse.

All you've done since you got on this site is rag on Legacy Families, now you're kissing their azz. I'm done with this guy, going back to adding him to the Ignore List.

Nothing to do with the families, coaches, admin, teachers, or students personally. It's about the system and lack of adaptable change, which I've said from the very beginning.

You still can't see the forest through the trees because of your immaturity with some personal agenda you think I have. Think what you will and please don't respond. Have a good day pboy.

Oh yeah, it's free.
Is it though?

Smaller as in lower enrollment which could lead to more opportunity and more individual focus.

But you're right, the physical campus is a good size and it's a good, new facility. Do they have a baseball field tucked back there too?

The class size is negligibly different. Elder's averaging how many per class? Like 220? Taylor's average class is like 190.

Really? I had no clue it was that high. I thought it was way smaller. And those are high school class figures?

How are they not close to D1 then?

Sorry, it's closer to 165. Used usnews.com and didn't catch Taylor's enrollment numbers on there shows 7-12.

But to answer your question, even if they were at 190/class that's only 95 boys/class. Which is why they wouldn't be close to D1.

1/2 of taylors 190 is girls. SO u only have about 100 boys to compete against compared to 220 at Elder.

Let's not forget that Three Rivers' enrollment was declining before the new school was built.

For the record this has zero to do with being on varsity, competition, playing time, etc. These boys are all among the best athletes in the grade/sport.

It's all about personal choice, cost, location, etc.

I think normal, rational people understand this completely. Even if it was about playing time, that's their choice too.
