Revere 4-star '18 forward Pete Nance commits to Northwestern over Michigan,Ohio State

Quote:
Nance, who attended Revere High School in Richfield, OH, is ranked as the No. 39 player in the class of 2018 by Rivals. ESPN, 247 Sports, and Scout all consider him a four-star recruit and rank him among the top 80 players in the country.

Nance’s decision came down to Northwestern, Michigan, and Ohio State. After visiting Evanston on Tuesday, he wasted little time in committing. The 6-foot-8 forward has great length, athleticism, and solid range on his jumpshot. This is a massive get for Chris Collins and his staff.

Where now

So he attended Revere HS but where will he be pursuing his education for the next year as he is a class of 2018 commit? Not casting aspersions on anyone at all, just curious. Thanks

I'm sure he will be staying at Revere. His Dad (and Mom) has lived in the district since he played for the Cavs a couple decades ago. His older brother and older sister both played and finished at Revere. His brother is now playing for the Lakers.

Chop Stix is an unknown quantity at this point
His brother was ready to commit to Michigan but Michigan backed off and took on Max Biefeldt who went on to have a sorry career Ann Arbor. Hope this one doesn't backfire on the Wolverines as well.

Things worked out fine for Larry Jr. at Revere. They'll finish fine for Pete, too. He ain't transferring anywhere

That is just written badly. Pete is not transferring. His dad is a former NBA player that has had other children play D1 sports. His brother is in the NBA too. He knows Pete doesn't need to transfer to get recruited. The kid still plays for the Akron Bobcats in AAU. He has played for them for years, since he was "unknown". They are a decent program but not a national player. They don't have a shoe contract. He is just a good kid so it is no surprise that he picked a school with a great academic reputation.

Picky on grammar

I was keying off of the very first item in this post that said "played" for Revere. Thought he might be transferring. Like I said, no aspersions just asking. Thanks to the posters who clarified.

Sorry you thought my comment was "written badly". That would have hurt more if your sentence wasn't poorly written. Just kidding - I'm a fan of the active voice.

Lol no I was saying the original post that you shared where it said that he attended Revere was badly written leading you to believe that he might be leaving. Nothing to do with your comment.

Great to see a hometown kid staying with his buddies and making them competitive rather than running to one of the local stud schools and the chest pounding that goes with it.
