Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series

In May 2017, the UFC announced White would hold Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series weekly on UFC Fight Pass. As with the earlier web series Looking for a Fight, the goal of the series is for White to scout talent for the UFC. Similar to The Ultimate Fighter none of the fighters involved will have existing UFC contracts. Licensed separately from the UFC with Dana White applying for a promoter's licence, it was stated ahead of the license being approved that “this is not the UFC, this is not the UFC brand, but instead a promotion that will allow up and coming fighters the chance to showcase their talents in hopes that one day they may compete in the UFC."

Week 1 - July 11th

Fight Card

Featherweight

Kurt Holobaugh defeated Matt Bessette via KO (Punches) at 2:59 R1

Heavyweight

Zu Anyanwu defeated Greg Rebello via KO (Punches) at 3:04 R2

Bantamweight

Boston Salmon defeated Ricky Turcios via Unanimous Decision

Middleweight

Charles Byrd defeated Jamie Pickett via Technical Submission (Arm Triangle Choke) at 4:55 R1

Bantamweight

Joby Sanchez defeated Manny Vazquez via Unanimous Decision

They're boxing. If it was an MMA fight, Conor would kill him in under a minute.

But since it's a boxing match and Mayweather is one of the best of all time, and McGregor has no professional boxing experience, he's probably going to get smoked.

I agree with Neo. Floyd gets murdered in less than a round in a cage.

But this is a boxing match. Fully expect a one-sided fight. The best Conor can do is last 12 rounds. That would be a win in itself even if he loses all 12. A guy with no boxing experience going to a decision against arguably one of the best ever? 40 years old or not, that would be big.

The only excitement will be the first 3-5 rounds. After that Floyd will settle in and do what he always does, dance around, score points with jabs.

Two azz clowns who know how to make money. I wish I could bring myself to being as phony as McGregor to make millions but I'll settle for my humble Ohio life and keep my dignity.

Mayweather wins a boxing match. McGregor wins in the cage. The fight is pretty dumb and obviously done for the money.

Yeah that's all that's stopping you from making millions, an unwillingness to be phony

That's it. People like yourself manage to do it without the millions.

Say what you will but he went from being on welfare 4 years ago to being on the Forbes list. Nothing phony about his ability in MMA. Sure he talks a lot but that's what you are supposed to do to promote fights.
