Former Florida and NE Patriot Star Aaron Hernandez Commits suicide in Prison

Aaron Hernandez hung himself in his cell in Massachusetts early this morning. He was serving a life sentence for murder after being found guilty of murder.

Ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez dead after hanging self in cell

MILFORD, Mass. (AP) — Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, acquitted of a double murder just days ago, died after hanging himself in his prison cell Wednesday morning, Massachusetts prisons officials said.

Hernandez, 27, was found by guards in his cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley just after 3 a.m., Department of Correction spokesman Christopher Fallon said in a statement.

The former New England Patriots tight end was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial-HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster about an hour later.

Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing unit in the maximum security state prison. He hanged himself using a bed sheet that he attached to a cell window, Fallon said.

Hernandez tried to block the cell door from the inside by jamming the door with various items, Fallon said.

Hernandez was moved to tears on Friday after he was acquitted of the 2012 fatal shootings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston. However he was serving a life without parole for the single murder of a man in 2011.

Interesting decision. It's not as if he would have been expecting Massachusetts to do the job for him had he not been acquitted for murders 2 and 3. He saved the citizens some money, anyway.

Likely got his daughter some money too, assuming he had a life insurance policy.

I was surprised there was so much made of his acquittal last week. He was serving life anyway? What's the point?
And yes, this probably ended well for the rest of us. Saved the taxpayers a bunch of money, and the talking heads will finally leave it alone.

Well, assuming the policy paid under those circumstances. Might have been better to hire it out.....

Pretty sure incarceration would void the policy.

Most life insurance policies cover suicide, after a certain amount of time. I don't know about incarceration.

Greeny is lost without Golic.

Booger is subbing and making excuses for Hernandez's life, Greeny is wondering if the Pats should cancel their White House visit today, "...because Trump is so controversial anyway,.......and Kraft did renew Hernandez at $40million..."

WTF is wrong with these people ?

Some dead scumbag led a double life. So what ? What if Brady was a cross-dressing bondage homo on the side ? (just for you, Ted ) They had no idea. He was gone from the team as soon as the news was confirmed. He hasn't played a snap for years. Idiot liberal mind-set is amazing.

It really puts a damper on what is supposed to be a fun and lighthearted event, so I wouldn't really be surprised if it was rescheduled. It's all the reporters are going to ask them about. Trump doesn't have anything to do with that

That is the way I would expect Greeny to respond...and why I never listen to Mike and Mike. They push ESPN liberal agenda to the hilt.

It will be anything but fun and lighthearted. 1. it's the Patriots - ESPN's home team. 2. It's Trump, and many Patriots players are acting like children and not going to attend - like that means anything to anybody. 3. Aaron Hernandez, who has as much to do with the Patriots super bowl win last season as you or I will be the topic if silly reporters who simply want to create news, not report it.

That's part of the reason they're losing viewers in mass. Clay Travis is much better.

Some woefully unaware dimwit a few days back didn't realize the liberal bias from ESPN Hard to imagine missing that......

Golic makes Greeny "work". Splitting them up because of a talent gap on other shows would be stupid.

Maybe Herm Edwards could b1tch-slap Greeny daily....

I guess Aaron didn't have too much faith in his appeal from the first conviction.

As for the radio guys: Greeny= nails on chalkboard; Clay Travis= spoon in blender.

And that may be why, let's face it, with today's liberal whacko's, you even pretend to have any like for President Trump and you get shouted down. Somehow the guy got elected though??

His lawyer is alleging he may have been killed.

Between him, the Facebook murderer and the guy who hoped the rail in Youngstown a couple of weeks ago, the system has definitely saved some money.
