I just rewatched the highlights from Canfield vs Louisville last year and if the roster Jersey numbers are accurate Canfield graduated 4 of their 5 offensive lineman.

Following Perry for many years, this years team has more questions than the last three teams. They do have a talented backfield, the QB, FB and WB all have good speed, but they値l only go as far as this green line will take them.
That being said the scrimmage with the Spartans will be interesting on many fronts.
Relax Ed, dont get your panties in a uproar, what is Perry known for? running the football, I'm guessing some of those DL that started will probably be moved to the OL to help out. With the running backs we have returning all they need is a little daylight and wham their gone, I'm very excited for this Perry team and looking forward to the BHS scrimmage

Dick, I知 always relaxed, except on Friday nights during football season or wondering if I cleared the chamber after going to the range. My boxer briefs are not in a wad...lol.
Panthers take on Buchtel in there first scrimmage, which is always good because of their size and speed. So we値l see how the lines do there first.

Well said, as always we at Perry expect to win the FLC, and maybe just maybe a week 13 slugfest with those people

Could be a special year. The talent is there. Averaging 260-270 on the O-Line. Going to need WR's to step up after losing Forte and Coleman. I saw Trevena from the basketball team is playing WR. He's 6-1 and athletic so that helps.

What are the days and times of Boardman scrimmages? If they have had one, what were the results?

Arbiter showed a scrimmage @ Poland on the 10th at 9 am.
August 16- Vs Perry at 5:00 pm.

You'd be lucky to find a Poland poster on here nowadays. Maybe someone from Boardman was actually there.

http://arbiterlive.com/Teams/Schedule/3976340

Hopefully a very good season for the Spartans this year.
Best of luck!

We did scrimmage Poland. I wasn't there so can't say how it went. Next scrimmage vs Perry at home 8/16 at 5pm.

Having heard some of the local previews it really sounds like that the expectations are very high this year and that they'll be even better from last year. Until Ieraci went down I'm pretty sure they would have been headed to the state semis.

As for the scrimmages, not sure Boardman usually shows much in them. I remember the sirens were blaring after the Poland scrimmage last year about how bland the offense was and they ended up being the most dynamic offense we had seen in awhile (until the injuries piled up)...But next week should be a barnburner if a scrimmage could be one. Boardman and Perry are probably going to be 2 of the best D2's in NE Ohio.

Boardman should handle Canfield this year. Hubbard beat them 4-0 in a scrimmage. For what it's worth the eagles may be the team to beat in the AAC this year.

Handicapping the schedule, I'd say Boardman should be favored in 8 of the 10 games this year. My thoughts on each below. We can't lose those top 4. I think if this team is better than last year(which seems possible) we should be able to take 3 of the 4 from the next group. Canfield is down, Ursuline has been so-so and just lost their QB, WGH seems maybe better but game at Boardman, and Jackson is supposedly down from last year and game at Boardman. The hope would then be we could split at Fitch/Mooney. 8-2 seems possible. I think 6 wins should be absolute bottom end for this team unless we lose O'Horo for extended period of time. Every game is winnable. So, 8+ wins is not that ridiculous to happen.

No excuse losing:
vs Youngstown East
at Lakeside

Heavy favorites:
at Howland
vs McDowell

Favored, but could lose:
vs Harding
vs Ursuline
vs Jackson
at Canfield

Slight underdogs, but winnable:
at Mooney
at Fitch

Gonna come down to coaching and play calling like it usually does with Boardman. Been plenty of games the last years that they have let slip away.

Fair assessment. Could be a special year for the Spartans. How痴 the RB that was injured looking?

Looking at the weather forecast, any chance this scrimmage gets postponed and rescheduled for tomorrow night? Things aren’t looking good for this evening. Not sure what gets accomplished in a downpour. If it’s a thunderstorm they won’t even start it and will stop it until it’s over.

Doesn't look that awful, seems most of the worst stuff will be to the south of Boardman. But who knows. Had Boardman been running their offense of 10-12 years ago it wouldn't even matter lol we probably threw the ball even less then than Perry does now. Ideally, though, this would be a scrimmage played in the dry. Didn't hear much about the first scrimmage, but there's a video of O'Horo throwing a beautiful 45 yard TD pass against Poland and it didn't look like there was anything on the other end...

That痴 true. Our scrimmage last year at Howland was canceled and never rescheduled.

Hopefully all the scrimmages end up being played.

Boardman looked pretty good all-around. 10-0 Boardman was up at half (varsity scrimmage was only 1St half. )The D looked strong and Perry never mounted much of a drive. Seemed to be controlling the line and had several sacks when Perry did attempt to pass. Perry may have barely crossed midfield once.

Offensively the passing game looked pretty good. It was really windy so really limited much deep. Running was not great. But I知 not sure Ieraci even played much if at all.

That's good to hear. I would figure they would hold Ieraci back a little bit coming off the injury.
