Don't expect the Shawnee game to be a contest. Hopkins is gone along with the core of the team we had last year. The school board has given the head coach job to an assistant with not much experience. I pulled my 8th grade son out of winter weights to train at home because no one there seems to know much about strength training. (No deadlifting, letting the boys get away with squatting 4 inches high, general foolishness) If we win 2 games this year I'll be surprised.

Feral Felines.
Northridge would be twice as bad as playing Shawnee who actually finished 7-3 last year. They beat MU.
Last time Milton played Franklin was about 10 years ago. Franklin win 14-6.
I think Milton only beat Franklin a couple of times in that series.

MU/Franklin have only played 4 times recently. MU won '06 and '07. Franklin won '08 and '09. In 2010 MU went down to the Buckeye and they haven't played since.

You're correct dog. Mitch Evans destroyed Franklin at their place in 06. 08-09 were sub par for MU.
Both schools are very different today. Oh, they never played prior to the 2006 contest.

Bellbrook has 80% of roster back and key contributors off 2 back to back 7-3 seasons that resulted in barely missing playoffs , they dealt with franklin the year before last and valley view last year , this team is beyond battle tested and will have the 2-3 best players in league in qb and rb/wr and bullock on the offensive and defensive lines , along with two VERY good classes moving up (freshman and sophomore classes both a year older now)

Imo bellbrook runs through league , vv and Franklin will be games but I think the mission at hand will drive us through .

Oakwood is always a wildcard but last 2 years even with a potent offense they haven't amounted to much and lost to the 3 bid dogs in league handlily for the most part .dont see them doing much , another 4th place finish in my eyes but hey some studs could show up to camp

Valley view has talent and some experience returning , the younger Hannah is a stud as well, their coaching staff is great and the energy in that town is back to late 90's early 2000's status .

Franklin has been on a high rise for a few years and been putting good athletes on the field with a good coaching staff as well . Their qb play is huge for me , that woods is a stud and can wing that ball around , reminds me of a more stationary Kyle pohl , kid is good, if they base their scheme around him he could have a monster year through the air.

Week 5 @ bb will be huge but I can't say championship game yet ... not with vv lurking a few weeks later in Germantown , remember the instant classic barn burner last year in bellbrook ?? Could be another one this year , with a title on the line !!

I love where the big side of the swbl is right now , a lot of fun football.

Keep our eyes open for brookville too .

They're pretty awful for sure. It wouldn't help Franklin in a season where they may be a playoff contender. But Waynesville didn't help whatsoever the last 2 years either. Thankfully though the Piqua and Edgewood were pretty big.

Yes they split the 4 years they played. Evans was unstoppable that game and the year after Milton had a bruising RB #33 I believe. I thought it was a fun series minus the travel. But you're right on things have changed. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago.

MU is smaller now. But with new developments around town it won’t be long until we’re back to that D4 level. That RB was Tyler Wilson. He was a stud.

Hearing good things out of Hornet Country. Faulk is turning things around and instilling discipline. Good numbers in the weight room. Look for the Hornets to surprise some people this year. I see this team being 5-5 at worst.

That's very good to hear , their a lot like bellbrook , have the overall size school and facilities to be a great program. Great for the league when Monroe is on the high tide !

I would love to see MU and Monroe knock heads one year. Not sure why it hasn't been scheduled.

That would be a fun one. I could see Monroe dropping Edgewood and New Richmond, weeks 1 and 3 here in the next few years.

Both being SWBL members, the fact that they have never met is surprising. Monroe is a quality opponent and MU would be tested mightily.

Absolutely agree. Monroe is a sleeping giant, just waiting to wake up. It'll be awesome when they do. I consider Monroe as Franklin's biggest rival. It's a trophy game and they were both in the MML before joining the SWBL together.

Now that Faulk has resigned. Where does Monroe go from here? Being late in the game I am not sure they do a full scale search. Do they hire from within on the intern or open up a search? If they were to hire from within the most logical seems to be Stubbs or Osterman. I only say Stubbs based on prior head coaching experience. I was looking forward to Faulk leading this program but it was just not meant to be.

I heard it was something to do with a teaching position and pay, but that's just talk around town. I did hear from a good source that Stubbs might be taking on the role as an interim for the year and then they will go through the process again next year.

I have been hearing the same type of rumors about the resignation. I thought I remember reading in the article when Faulk was hired that he was hopeful for a teaching position within the school but wasn't guaranteed anything. If it wasn't an issue when he accepted the job then why was it a issue now? Also, not sure what assistants stay on board that he has brought in. Does his son still play at Monroe? I feel like on the interim that Stubbs is the most logical option, maybe he redeems himself a little bit this go around.

I am not sure why there can be room for the Basketball Boys/Girls, Baseball, Track, Girls Soccer and other sports to have the coach in the building but it has been tough sledding finding something for the Football coach over the last five years.

I understand that the days of hiring a coach and creating teaching positions for him and 5 new assistants are pretty much gone but Monroe is out of the fiscal issues and it is still pulling teeth to get a coach in the building.

I hope the best but I think it could be another long year for the Hornets.

I’ve heard Stubbs is the hire, and he will be there for one year to get Coach Osterman situated to take over as the Head Coach.

Lose Carlisle, Piqua and Waynesville, pick up Madison, Xenia and Preble Shawnee.

Braden Woods will be the QB the next two years and look for him to be the center of the offense if I had to guess. Franklin returns plenty of skill players on offense all comes down to how line play is.
I understand Woods did a decent job when forced into playing due to the Sr QB White getting hurt ...would expect Woods to improve a be a steady player as a Jr. ..maybe a standout as a SR...Who are the "skilled " players you are referring to ? I know Montgomery is at UC....and Kinser has graduated.
