then how come it was not called later in OT when it was obvious?

Springfield is a physical team that presses and fouls a lot. Not Wayne's fault...not to mention the officials missed multiple over the back fouls on Springfield

You can’t grab a player by the waist and not make a play on the ball. What was so obvious in OT?

Thanks, that's about what I thought.
As far the foul on the baseline at the end of OT, I do agree that it should have been called intentional, especially after the one called on Blue - which was pretty flagrant. I know they had a foul to give, but as Moss tried to race past Blue he basically bear hugged him rather than just grab his arm or something like that. IMHO it was the right call.

So it’s okay for you to say Springfield is going to win at home, but I cant say that I feel they are better than Wayne? Lol

Well IF Springfield does win the rematch they will be 1-1 vs. each other which translates to being equal IMO. I say that I think they will win in SF because they are insanely tough to beat there and Rodgers will be back...You can feel however you want of course lol but Wayne won so as of now is better. In my opinion

Wayne also has a better resume so far this year, though Springfield will get some tough games later in the year against Moeller and Trotwood. There is a reason Wayne is rated so high and that is based on their record and schedule.

With Springfield's style of play I do expect them to get called for more fouls, but I did think that Wayne wasn't called for lot of hand checks that Springfield was, and there could have been a lot more fouls called in the paint (which I think Springfield did a good job of exploiting).

I think you mean Quisenberry. He was the one that fouled at mid court.
I still did not like the call especially at the point of the game. It could of been a game changer.
Will the rematch take place before or after seeding?

Very valid points. Well said...I think we can all agree at least that the refs left something to be imagined. They do their best at the end of the day, it's a thankless tough job esp. a sold out Springfield-Wayne game

That's a fair point, Wayne has played a pretty strong schedule. Other than Centerville and Cleveland Heights (and maybe Belmont) Springfield's schedule has been rather easy, but considering they mostly played that stretch without their two starting guards I felt the Cats were being overlooked/underrated by many (including vamps).
Whatever Taylor did between the game last night and tonight to get benched for the 1st quarter I hope he learned his lesson, that was the absolute worst time for it to happen and may be the reason the Cats were fighting up hill most of the game.

But remember coaches get to vote online for a week before the draw (I think the deadline is actually midnight on the 9th). So some coaches might vote before the rematch, some may wait and see. Regardless, barring a collapse by either, they'll be 1-2 and wouldn't have a 3rd game until regionals (assuming both get that far).

Getting the #1 seed over #2 will be huge this year. Avoiding Moeller as long as possible will be wise. Not worried about any other team in Cincy but yes, their is still a long way to go before that.

I was also impressed with the sportsmanship between the teams when the game ended. Both knew they put it all out there and just played an instant classic. Despite the intensity of the rivalry, people outside the area don't realize how close these two communities are, so many crossovers, friends and family between them. This is not a heated rivalry (despite the fight a few years ago), it just a great friendly rivalry (after all, Springfield made Wayne ).

Good luck for the rest of your season. I love Wayne’s guard play. They are the heart of the team.

I think the Cats did well. They still have a starter out and they didn't start another. Should be a good rematch. If the Cats starter are healthy and are well behaved, I like the Cats in the rematch by 10.

Great game last night! Instant classic! The game was as good as the hype both teams should win district titles come tournament time.
IMO,The difference in last night's game was the veteran guard play of Wayne's D1 guards, Quiz and Parker. Their poise won the game last evening. I do believe Springfield is a better coached team and you can clearly tell that this is not a Trice coached Wayne team in spite of their success. I thought the officiating was consistent as well, not saying it was good but as a coach that's all you ask for good or bad.
