Kids may change weight classes as the year goes on; Let's see whose where when the season starts.

If that's the case then let's just hand these guys the medals now and call it a season. Season is long and freakish things happen to good kids. I remember back around the early 2000s when Roddy from St. Ed's ran into a freshman by the name of Chris Phillips. Phillips dominated the match and Roddy got thrown off his game after the Ironman. Also, who's to say that'll be their official weight. Just never know til last week of February when sectionals start.

My guess at the state champs

106- Skinner
113- Norris
120- Byrd
126- Shawver
132- Wiles
138- Hepner
145- Andonian
152- Heard
160- Brady
170- Kharchla
182- Wokojance
195- Baker
220- OíMalley
285- Padilla

Yes I do know that I have 6 Lasalle kids winning a state title but thatís just how good this team is this year. With all that talent, they will all push each other to get better just like St. Edís has been doing for years.

Would bet the house that Hepner doesn't see 138! He got tall/Big! Not to mention he wrestled 145 at Fargo. It will be interesting to see where everyone lands!

Make sense; the trend for the past 4- 5 years haven't been good for the favorite. 6 of the 14 projections have been successful. The state title run will hinge on the heavyweights of those 2 teams( 1 could earn 10 to 20 points while the other could mustard 1 or 2 points).

Heard the same from his family. Not sure he could beat what St. Ed's have at 138 if he had to cut.

Hepner will start easily at 138 if he can make it but I would expect eds to bump up a lot and split matches except for iron man and major national duals or tournaments. The 2 pound weight allowance comes fast. If he can't make it , look for him to go way, way up. He won't wrestle off close friend Andonian but I expect he will take a crack at 152/160/170. Eds coaches will try and work something out and will avoid multiple wrestle offs.

Hold up, 160/ 170? Man, might as well leave the chase to go 138lbs and start planning upwards( start building that strength to go with the bigger frame) and he's still growing? Is he able to beat out Dover or Paddy? Hightower? How about sit out/ JV a year and wrestle senior year bigger, stronger, bionic?

I think A hard cutting sucked down Hepner would have hard time with Geog, after watching Geog in Fargo for 1st time.

They don't have to make scratch weight for wrestle offs. Plus you're going off freestyle results from Fargo. And your ignoring the immense pressure of a public wrestle off in that room. Nothing against Luke but Hepner is a fierce competitor. Anyway, I expect if Hepner makes it he won't wrestle there much before sectionals and that would give Geog plenty of mat time with the Gold team. It's really silly to speculate until certifications. Hopefully eds can get everyone in but many of the great ones have had to sit a year or two ( including Jim Heffernan behind Jimmy Mason)

I figured wrestle off would be +5 from scratch. I have know idea what Hepnerís is weighing. But if he is cutting a lot of weight to get to 138 /143 wrestle off weight that could even up the advantages Hepner has over Geog. Hepner may not have hard time with big cut if it is or it could be hard on him. Yes I know freestyle and folk style is different that is 1st time I really got to see Geog live in action. I am sure Edís will figure lineup out and heavy cutters will only make it few times this year.

D3 145 has become very crowded lately. It seems like there has been quite a few movers from 152 the last couple weeks.

As expected, it doesn't sound like Delsanter will be able to make 113, so I moved Delsanter and Rini up to 120 and 126. I also moved Richter to 132 as a duo with Geog. It sounds like Hepner will still attempt to make 138, so I left Geog at 132 as it seems like his best spot to crack the lineup.

Quite a few changes, most are from the Super 32 qualifier this weekend in PA.

Edwards beat Barnett 10-6 at 122. He now owns head-to-head victories over Barnett in freestyle and folkstyle, so I moved him up to #1 for now, although him making 113 seems like it will be VERY tough.
