I am certainly interested.
Just curious, is there a shortage of refs? If so, is it because there are more wrestling events, refs retiring, hard to find folks to commit, fear of crazy youth wrestling moms or what?

Edit: I spoke to soon, I just read the Cincy Officials class thread which kind of answered my question.

Since I wrote what you read, yes, the shortage is real. The OHSAA doesn't seem to notice or at least they are not addressing it directly. This is true in most, if not all, sports.

There are a number of reasons for the decline in numbers.
Many of us (like me) are getting on in years and whether we like it or not, movements are more difficult.
The use of Arbiter certainly plays a role.
Parents are not much of a problem for me but I can see where young officials decide that these people are out of control.
Giving up the number of hours, especially on weekends, is not too appealing. Classes and meetings certainly take time.

The reward is that I get the best seat in the house. Is it worth it? After 36 years, it is for me.
